SAN DIEGO 2023 CLIMATE SUMMIT
With your support, the Climate Science Alliance is excited to announce the 2023 San Diego Climate Summit: Our Stories of Climate Transformation, hosted at the San Diego Natural History Museum on September 20th. Following three successful Summits in 2018, 2019, and 2020, the fourth San Diego Climate Summit will uplift and celebrate our shared stories of climate transformation stories that share not only how we can adapt to a changing climate, but how we might transform our natural and human communities for the better
The Summit will be a unique opportunity for over two hundred attendees to learn about the incredible work that is happening beyond the barriers of academic science, embracing art, community, cultural practices, and intergenerational learning. The Summit will provide meaningful learning and networking opportunities for community leaders, artists, scientists, planners, and policy makers to connect, learn, and collaborate.

WHAT YOUR SPONSORSHIP MAKES POSSIBLE 2023 SAN DIEGO CLIMATE SUMMIT
Your sponsorship directly supports increased and equitable participation and involvement in the 2023 San Diego Climate Summit. As an organization, the Climate Science Alliance strives to facilitate sustained and meaningful engagement in all that we do. Our work is successful when we are able to uplift the voices and experiences of the community so that climate conversations are both accessible and relatable.
We are committed to keeping registration fees low, providing honorariums and stipends to knowledge holders, and offering scholarships to those who require them to fully participate in the 2023 San Diego Climate Summit and we need your help to make this happen.
REGISTRATION FEES AT 1/3 OF TRUE COST
$75 = REGISTRATION $210+ = TRUE COST
The true cost per attendee at this year's Summit is anticipated to be over $210. We have kept the cost of registration at $75 since 2019, despite the rising cost of goods and services. This always includes meals and refreshments.
On average, our partners face conference registration costs exceeding $200 per day, and often does not include meals.
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 65% OF ATTENDEES
We have always offered scholarship opportunities for attendees. Historically, we have covered the full cost of registration for between 40 - 75% of attendees.
We anticipate providing registration scholarships and/or travel support for at least 130 attendees.

We are pleased to share that any sponsorship contributions that surpass the cost of the 2023 San Diego Climate Summit will directly support our Small Grants program. The goal of this regranting effort is to support our partners’ professional, research, cultural, community based, and/or educational efforts in a respectful and equitable manner. These small grants support projects that fill gaps in existing projects, help seed fund new efforts, and/or help disseminate the work being achieved in a joint effort to safeguard natural and human communities in the face of a changing climate.
