With Christmas just around the corner, it’s the time of year when the financial planning community looks ahead to 2020 and what that might have in store. It all sounds so simple doesn’t it. It’s the time of year when we reflect on threats and opportunities to our businesses as well as what has worked well over the past year and what hasn’t, so that we can position ourselves as efficiently as possible for the New Year. As we enjoy the spectacle of seeing our homes, buildings and streets lit up with festive lights and decorations just like every other Christmas, somehow it all feels rather “normal”. But perhaps that’s where the vision of a “normal” festive period – whatever that might mean – comes to a rather abrupt end.
