Letter from Leslie

There’s no place like home!

It was fitting that the Wizard of Oz was one of the first performances in our new McKillip Theater because Dorothy’s words keep ringing in my ears. And it’s true. There really is no place like our new home. This summer, we’ll find out just how many creative experiences fit within these walls. We’re hosting some familiar classes like tap dance and tai chi as well as some new additions to the roster like West African Dance and Rooftop Yoga. We’ve also planned a season of gallery exhibits that celebrate artists from our own neighborhood. Then add on top a huge slate of summer camps! (Spots will sell out, so sign up now if you haven’t already.)

And just because we love our new building, that doesn’t mean CCAC will stop bringing the arts out into the community. Wednesdays in the Woods starts back up this year at the Burnet Woods Bandstand on June 5 followed by Saturdays in the Park at Inwood Park on June 8 — all free and perfect for family outings.

Keeping our offerings free or low-cost has always been a priority for CCAC. That’s why I’m thrilled to announce that we are taking it a step further this summer. Thanks to support from the Gerald H. Fitzgerald Scholarship Fund, we are launching the Fair Share Pricing program with some of our summer classes. With this program, if you aren’t able to pay full tuition, you’ll have the ability to select subsidized prices right at registration, without having to fill out a scholarship application, provide extra verification, or answer additional questions. We believe that everyone has the right to access the arts and we don’t want anything to stand in the way of you expressing yourself. If you also believe this and want to support scholarships of your own, visit cliftonculturalarts.org/donate and make a donation today!

Come get creative with us!

Leslie
