The Redgrave Theatre - SS26 Programme

Page 1

Welcome to the Redgrave Theatre

We are thrilled to unveil our new season, which coincides with an incredible milestone, as 2026 marks our 60th anniversary!

Our anniversary year begins with the launch of the Redgrave Youth Theatre, an inclusive and creatively ambitious programme offering young people opportunities to build confidence and develop essential core skills.

Throughout the year, we will continue to offer a multitude of productions designed to captivate and uplift, while delving into exciting new areas of programming. In the first half of 2026, families can anticipate new adaptations of beloved Julia Donaldson works, including The Singing Mermaid, A Squash and a Squeeze, and The Detective Dog. We’re also thrilled to feature musical retellings of classic children’s stories The Three Billy Goats Gruff and Stiles and Drewe’s The Three Little Pigs. Our partnership with Playtime! continues, providing our youngest audience members a gentle introduction to theatre with fun, interactive storytelling sessions on stage.

Our diverse programme for adult audiences encompasses top comedy, adventure talks, musical theatre, magic and music. Highlights from our celebrated guest lineup include award-winning comedian Scott Bennett, climbing legend Leo Houlding, women’s hormone specialist Dr Louise Newson, wildlife television icon Michaela Strachan, National Geographic explorer Ella Al-Shamani and military illusionist Lance Corporal Richard Jones. For those seeking fresh and thought-provoking theatre, join us for critically acclaimed play Our Little Hour, and a gripping and bold production of Macbeth.

To culminate our 60th anniversary celebrations, we are excited to announce that the Redgrave Theatre will produce Dick Whittington, our first ever in-house pantomime. This spectacular production will champion the talent and spirit of our city and everything that makes us proud to be a part of Bristol.

Thank you for your ongoing and vital support. We look forward to celebrating this landmark year with you and setting the stage for the next six decades.

How to book tickets

All under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times. Children must not sit alone during any performance. Children under 24 months do not require a ticket, unless specified, but must be held on a person’s lap or in their arms comfortably throughout the performance. Children over 24 months require a purchased ticket. Baby change facilities are available.

Companions

Customers who require assistance are welcome to add a companion ticket to their booking at no extra charge. The companion must be able to assist with accessing the theatre and its facilities, and remain with the customer throughout their visit to ensure their comfort and wellbeing. All tickets are subject to availability at the time of booking and are assessed through our partnership with Nimbus Disability. To book accessible seating or discuss your requirements, please contact the Box Office during opening hours. Please mention your Nimbus Access Card when calling the box office so we can ensure all access requirements are fully supported at the time of booking.

Access

The main access to the auditorium is via two staircases, however we do have ground level access

Ticket Prices & Booking Fees

Based on the popularity of a production, ticket prices and offers can change at any point during the on sale period. Where possible we can exchange tickets at a fee of £1.50 to another showing of the same performance within the run. All tickets purchased online or by phone incur an additional booking fee of £1.50 per ticket, 20p of which is a restoration levy that helps us maintain and improve the building for our current and future visitors. Tickets booked in person are not subject to this fee.

Refund & Ticket Insurance

The Redgrave Theatre will not refund tickets except for the unlikely occurrence of an event being cancelled. When this is the case, the refunded amount will be for the face value of the ticket only. In the event of a show being rescheduled, your tickets will automatically be moved to the new date. If you cannot attend the new date, you can apply for a refund for the tickets up to one month after the show has been rescheduled.

If you wish to add ticket insurance to your booking you can purchase this at £1.75 per ticket. Please visit SecureMyBooking.com for more information. Purchasing ticket insurance however does not mean you are automatically entitled to a refund. A request must be submitted directly through their website and a case needs to be open and investigated before a refund of any kind can be given. We are currently not offering to resell tickets to sold out shows.
