Greetings from Mr. Matt Luecke Meeting with prospective students and their families is my favorite part of my job here at Lutheran East. The process of finding and sending a student to high school brings about many questions and challenges— my goal is to be insightful, helpful, and honest throughout the entire process. I am available to assist with the admissions application, scholarships, tuition assistance, and enrollment from a family’s initial interest in Lutheran East through a student’s first day of school. Lutheran East is one big family and I love to begin building relationships before students are even walking our halls. A variety of academic coursework and a diverse selection of electives prepare students for success in college and in life beyond high school. Lutheran East’s core curriculum includes College Preparatory courses that fully prepare students for their collegiate years. Unique Courses The elective curriculum offers tremendous depth and variety. In addition to their core curriculum coursework, students can choose from courses in art, technology, African-American history, foreign language, physical education, and video production & editing.

College and Career Preparation Lutheran East administers the IOWA assessment twice annually to all students to measure academic growth. The IOWA also satisfies Ohio’s graduation testing requirements. Prospective students are administered an IOWA placement test before enrolling at Lutheran East so that a student’s growth and progress can be tracked over their four-year career. Lutheran East 11th graders take a one-semester College & Career Planning course that aids students in navigating the college application process. As part of this course, students also complete ACT preparations and they are required to take the ACT twice.

THE HONORS ACADEMY About the Honors Academy The Lutheran East Honors Academy provides high-achieving, driven students with opportunities that will bolster their college applications, help them develop into well-rounded young adults, and allow them to better compete nationally to get into elite level colleges and universities. The Honors Academy offers students a variety of opportunities to excel in and outside of the classroom, experience various cultural and community outreach activities, and actively participate in volunteer work and mission trips.

Yes, Lutheran East is a school rooted in the Lutheran faith. But no, you don’t need to be Lutheran to attend and to thrive as a Falcon. Whether a student has grown up in a Christian home or is hearing the Gospel for the first time, all are welcome at Lutheran East.

“I was raised in a home built upon God’s word and music. But when I started high school, part of me wanted to focus only on studying hard and having fun. One Chapel service, as I listened to the service leaders singing praise, I heard my mother’s voice in my head, saying ‘God gave you a talent; use it wisely or He will take it away!’ The next day, I was invited to sing in the following week’s Chapel service. Since then, I’ve been a dedicated member of Lutheran East’s Chapel Ministry, and it has changed me in every way for the better. At Chapel each week, my hope is that I can help to uplift and inspire my peers and our school community.”

THE ARTS & GOSPEL CHOIR

At Lutheran East, creativity is encouraged and self-expression is discovered.

Art and music are an ideal way for students to discover their own self-expression, creativity, and God-given talents.

Simultaneously, students are encouraged to utilize artistic expression to observe and celebrate the beauty of God’s creation.

Arts Courses & Facilities Students take courses in drawing, painting, computer art, digital photography, and vocal music. Lutheran East’s facilities include a fine art studio, large music room, 350-seat auditorium with stage, audio/visual booth, and video production studio.

Gospel Choir A signature program at Lutheran East, the Gospel Choir is a student chorale group that rehearses during the school day and performs throughout the school year. The Lutheran East Gospel Choir’s select group, the Schola Cantorum, has recently performed at New York City’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral and on the steps of the Georgia state capitol building.

I am not under the impression that every student will love singing or even excel at it, but should they never again join another choir or sing publicly, they will know irrefutably how to reach God’s heart.”

Schedule an Admissions Interview The Admissions Interview is an opportunity for us to get to know your student and your family. We will also answer any questions you have about Lutheran East and the admissions process.

Take the Placement Test The Placement Test is a required step in the admissions process. It is designed to assess each applicant’s fit for our curriculum.

Receive Admissions Decision Once we’ve received a complete application and the results from your Admissions Test, Lutheran East will either offer admission or counsel the family on the next steps for their student.

Apply for State Scholarships & Tuition Assistance Submit paperwork for state scholarships (EdChoice and The Cleveland Scholarship) and/or tuition assistance.

Enroll to Secure Your Spot To finalize your student’s enrollment, the family must complete the online enrollment packet and pay the enrollment fee.
