ADVANCED PATHWAY
Towards your first choice university
The JW6 Advanced Pathway offers you a strong choice of A-level courses with guaranteed excellent teaching, designed to get you the results you need.
For students who chose to go onto higher education, JW6 saw 83% of our recent cohort complete applications, with 85% achieving their first place option in 2025.

A-level courses
A-level subjects are primarily assessed through final examinations, with some offering a small coursework component.
Students following the Advanced Pathway benefit from:
• Access to the state of the art Sixth Form Study Centre and ICT room
• Guest speaker series
• Residential university visits
• 1-to-1 career guidance and support with your CV and UCAS form
• Extra support from partners such as Reading Scholars, Elephant Group, Exeter University, Sutton Trust, Oxbridge Programme and more
• Enrichment sessions including British Sign Language

TECHNICAL PATHWAY
Fast-track your way to skills and employment
Prepare yourself for employment in business and the wider world of work with our Technical Pathway.
Outcomes in our Business and Marketing courses have been outstanding and enabled students to access university and apprenticeships.

BTEC courses
Courses within the Technical Pathway follow a BTEC style of assessment. Business, Marketing, Applied Science and Sport use a combination of both internal and external assessments. These courses will suit students who like to bank their work as they progress through their studies at Sixth Form.
Students following the Technical Pathway benefit from:
• Priority involvement with ‘business breakfasts’ to enable networking
• Guest speaker sessions
• 1-to-1 career guidance and work-based mentoring
• Residential trips and university visits
SPORTS SCIENCE PATHWAY
Setting off on a winning career in sport
The JW6 Sports Science Pathway will put you on the fast track to a career in sport – including sports science, sports management and even sports psychology.
Choose from exciting courses all designed to make you ready for a winning career in sport – with outstanding outcomes, facilities and links with external partners, students have gone on to university and sport related work apprenticeships.

Sports Science courses
Courses that naturally support a career with sport include Biology, Applied Science, Psychology, and Business & Marketing.
Students following the Sports Science Pathway benefit from:
• One hour a day exclusive use of our brand-new Academy gym

• Sports leadership programme with recognised National qualifications
• Residential trips and sporting tours
