Harris Academy Bermondsey is a very successful school with high standards and great ambition for its students. We are very excited to be launching HAB6, our new Sixth Form for young women and men, with the following specialist strands: Arts Faculty Science, Mathematics & Engineering Faculty HAB’s business mentoring scheme connects students with high performing professionals from across the financial, legal and journalism sectors. If you want contacts who will give you a foot in the door of a major international company then look no further than HAB6.

With courses including History, English Literature, French and Spanish, we will prepare you for study at a good university as the stepping stone to a top level professional career.

Outstanding teaching is combined with an over-subscribed Saturday Academy that includes astrobiology projects, computer programming and ecotechnology projects led by professional scientists and engineers. With links to medical schools, academic scientists, psychologists, statisticians, computer scientists and mathematicians, you will have the best teaching and the most inspirational role models.

Whatever your ambition, HAB6 is the place for you to gain those valuable qualifications, skills and connections to help you move on to university, a higher level apprenticeship or into work.

HIGHER LEVEL APPRENTICESHIPS Some students already know the career they want to follow when they leave HAB 6 and they would love to study for a degree whilst also gaining valuable paid work experience within their chosen field.

Higher Level Apprenticeships are available in a range of areas from Accounting, Advertising and Marketing, Communications and Banking to Construction, Project Management and Fashion.

Apprenticeships give students the opportunity to work for a real employer, earn a real salary and gain a real qualification whilst gaining valuable workplace skills and experience.

Things you love...

At HAB6 we will work hard together to ensure you spend a lifetime doing the things you love.

This new Sixth Form has the right mix of courses, links with employers, scholarships and wider opportunities to help its students follow their dreams. It will transform Sixth Form education in south central London.

You will be taught by outstanding teachers who are passionate about their subject and who know how to inspire you to achieve the highest grades.

You will be challenged, you will need to work hard and you will have high standards to meet. The reward for all of that will be your success. Our staff will do everything they can to ensure your success.

In addition to this, HAB6 has a diverse stimulating enrichment programme in place. On a weekly basis you will have a bespoke Subject Enhancement and enrichment timetable that will help you to win a place at a good university or with a top employer.

Harris Federation The Harris Federation is a not-for-profit charity. Led and run by teachers, we established our first school over 25 years ago.

There are now more than 40 happy and highly successful primary and secondary academies in our federation. All of these are in and around London.

With each school that has joined us, the expectations we set ourselves have increased.

Every Harris academy so far inspected by Ofsted is rated ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’, with three quarters of our inspected secondary academies judged ‘outstanding’. Our primary schools are newer, but almost half are ‘outstanding’, with the rest ‘good’.

As well as joint working between the teachers at our academies, there are many shared experiences for our students. These include federation-wide sports days at the National Sports Centre; Harris Experience, a unique programme that readies our most able students for life at top universities; and inter-academy events such as one-to-one reading partnerships between our primary and secondary schools, World Maths Day and Debate Mate.

From the Chief Executive The Harris Federation is a London charity with twenty five years of experience in education. Our Academies have an excellent track record in preparing Sixth Form students for the best Universities and careers.

Harris Academy Bermondsey has established itself as a highly enterprising and very successful member of our group. What makes it so successful?
