The Vikings posted one of their best years of all time in 2022, as Cleveland State returned to the Horizon League Tournament for the first time since 2016, recorded its most wins in a single-season (22) since 2015, and posted the most conference victories (18) in a year since 2010. The Vikings’ 18 #HLSOFT wins during regular season play earned them the No. 2 seed in the Horizon League Tournament, marking the eighth time that Cleveland State has played as a top-two seed in program history. The Vikings were led by Horizon League Freshman of the Year Melissa Holzopfel, who became just the third Viking all-time to earn rookie of the year honors, while Jenna Deang (First Team) and Becky Hurosky (Second Team) also earned postseason honors.
