The evolution of the AAPC into the Black Philanthropy Center marks an exciting new chapter in how we honor the legacy and shape the future of Black giving in Cleveland. Rooted in more than 30 years of leadership, generosity and vision, this work continues a powerful tradition of investing in Black communities, advancing equity and creating opportunity that lasts for generations.

Today’s summit reflects that mission in action. 8:30 AM | VIRTUAL STREAM OPENS Our virtual community joins via live with a DJ welcoming participants from across the country into the Summit experience.

9 AM | OPENING PLENARY: A LEGACY IN THE MAKING The Summit opens with a grounding conversation on leadership, entrepreneurship and philanthropy as forces for building healthy communities. In this armchair conversation with Randell McShepard, Warren Anderson reflects on his journey as a business leader, the values that shape his approach to giving and the legacy he is intentionally building through investment in people, opportunity and place.

AGENDA 10 – 11:30 AM | Breakout Experiences These breakout sessions meet participants wherever they are on their philanthropic journey. The sessions provide practical insight, shared learning and clear pathways to help participants move from intention to informed, confident giving. Participants are encouraged to float and rotate throughout this time visiting the Giving Gallery, connecting with organizations in the Community Impact Exchange and learning more ways to grow their philanthropic dollars to make generational change in the areas they care deepest about.

Breakout Session 1: Community Impact Exchange [ Garden Room ] This highly interactive session creates space for direct, relationship-driven engagement with organizations advancing healthy communities. Participants explore opportunities to contribute time, talent and treasure — leaving with clear pathways for continued engagement beyond the Summit.
