Proficiency in a foreign language is an important part of a broad general education.
In the Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, you develop competency in foreign languages while exploring and learning to value and analyze critically the diversities of cultures, thought, perspectives, literature and languages of humanity.
World Languages majors can choose from three concentrations: Arabic, French or Spanish.

Students in World Languages programs have the opportunity to study abroad.
CSU has study abroad programs in France and Spain. Each language group travels with faculty and earns credit at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Additionally, you can get involved in service learning opportunities with non-profit organizations. You also have the opportunity to intern in the Greater Cleveland area.
