The Political Science major allows you to take an inter-disciplinary approach to exploring how the United States and other countries interact and organize themselves.

The Department of Political Science offers an accelerated degree program with the College of Law.

This 3+3 program provides students with the opportunity to complete an undergraduate and law school degree in 6 years.

Students in the Political Science program participate in senior capstone research seminars with small cohorts of graduating majors with options for specialized subfield topics. Past topics have included American Politics, Comparative Politics and International Relations.

You have access to a strong internship program including civic participation in political campaigns, Cleveland’s City Council and a number of Cuyahoga County legal/court positions.

Courses are taught by faculty with practical experience working in government, law and intelligence. While studying Political Science you may also take a variety of cutting edge “Special Topics,” classes. These classes cover topics such as Politics and the Graphic Novel, Organized Crime and Polarization.
