Anthropology is unique in offering two opportunities for field study.
CSU is one of the few colleges that offers a cultural field school program in which studetns work with members of a local Cleveland ethnic community to learn about their culture or study their language. We also offer an archaeological fieldschool opportunity where students learn the proper methods of field archaeology and excavation while also learning how to use modern geophysical techniques.
We offer opportunities for students to volunteer or work in our archaeological curation lab. Currently we have around 1.2 million objects in our collection. Most of the material is used as a teaching tool in many of our classes.
Paid and unpaid internships are available with several local museums, libraries, historical societies and parks.
