TAMS CAN®
TSC Showpigs Tams Can® is all about achieving your dreams through Tamworth swine. Our team is relentlessly dedicated to you and your family because we believe and know Tamworths can do anything. The only question remaining is will YOU believe too?
2015
Tate Shows his first Tamworth and wins Champion Tamworth Barrow at the Indiana State Fair. Thus, the Tams Can® mindset begins.
2018
Tate purchases Tammy who dominates the IJSC Circuit and becomes the first Tamworth to break the Top 5 at a jackpot. Tammy ends her career with being the first ever Tamworth to be named Grand Overall Gilt at a County Fair.
2019
TSC Showpigs Tams Can® is founded. Tammy has her first litter which produced Fury, 4th Overall Barrow at Springfield, and Rosie.
2020
Rosie has her first litter that produces the mother of Hardwood, That Much Better, and numerous champions. Fury sires four of the Top Five Tamworth Barrows at the Exposition.
2021 Fury is named Tamworth Man of the Year by Pig Planet.
2022 Lucy wins Champion Tamworth Gilt at Arizona National and sets a world record, selling for $10,000 to Riverview Farms.
2023
TSC Showpigs Tams Can® herd expands to 15 Tamworth sows.
2024
Tams Can® Strategies launches. The herd expands to nearly 30 Tamworth females and Trademark becomes the new herd boar. Over 50 champions are named at various shows across the nation. New barn addition in the works.
2025
Tams Can® Sires is founded in the #Tamworth CapitalOfTheWorld, Albany, Indiana.
TAMWORTH
OF THE WORLD
Albany, Indiana
Two locations, one goal. We are currently managing 40+ sows across our two dedicated locations. Our flagship location in Albany, Indiana is managed by Tate Coulter. Allowing for expansion, you’ll find another location in Deerfield, OH managed by Tim and Katie Suderman.
NEW DEVELOPMENTS
This year we launched Tams Can Sires™, the only boar stud exclusively dedicated to Tamworth boars with three public boars and our herd boar, Trademark. We also held our first Crowned in Crimson™ sale, an elite bred female event. Look for it annually to showcase superior genetics.
FUTURE PLANS
In 2025, we completed our new show barn.
On the docket for 2026–2027 includes adding an apparel and coffee shop (Cat & Gravel Coffee Co.) with a renovated office. 2027 and beyond will bring new boar stud facilities and a sale facility expansion.

#TAMSCAN
2 0 2 5 ESTABLISHED
We kicked off the year with over 10 Tamworth boars on feed - only the elite stayed. TOTAL WAR is one of the two that made the cut. The Tamworth breed has made big strides but it’s still hungry for a boar that brings true power and center. Total War is the densest, deepestsided Tamworth boar we’ve seen in recent years, yet he maintains the power, bone, flexibility and neck extension needed to compete and win. When you need CENTER, TOTAL WAR is the answer. And let’s not forget: Sow power matters. His dam and her littermates dominated every Tamworth ring in 2024, only rivaled by the littermates of Dynasty, Total War’s sire.
DYNASTY 92-2 X PETTING ZOO
Thank you to the Beck family for naming this guy! Given the legacy Tina and this sow line has at Beck’s, we thought it was only fitting to allow them the honor of naming this boar! We started the year off with 10+ Tamworth boars on feed with the plan of keeping only those that move the breed forward. WHISKEY is one of two boars that does exactly that. He is big footed, extended in his front 1/3 with the power, mass, and running gears to match! The sows standing behind WHISKEY have produced winner after winner, such as: 2021 Champ Tamworth Gilt @ NJSS, 2022 Champ Tamworth Barrow @ Denver, 2023 Champ Tamworth Gilt @ Askarben, 2023 Champ Tamworth Gilt @ American Royal and more.
Another of the 12 litter, Trademark is a littermate to Tina, a many time champion for Connor Ortman. Check our her top achievements. And his littermates dominated too: Res. Champ Tamworth Barrow — WI State Fair, 3rd Overall Tamworth Barrow — OH State Fair, Champion Tamworth Barrow — CA State Fair
TAMWORTH MAN OF THE YEAR NOMINEE
Clyde Shaffer Sr., Tate’s grandfather, has always had the firm belief that sow power is what makes or breaks a firm. This ideal led to Tate’s Grandpa being the top hog man in the country for decades. TSC Showpigs is committed to the same ideal. To this end, we have accumulated nearly 30 Tamworth females that each are elite in their own right. We highlight our sows so you may purchase with confidence when bidding on TSC Tamworths.
There is simply none better.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN.
Our journey began in 2018 with Tate at the helm, and a singular Tamworth sow named Tammy, the Champion Tamworth Gilt and Grand Overall Gilt at the Delaware County Fair. Tammy became the cornerstone of our lineage. From her first litter emerged Fury, the 2021 Tamworth Man of the Year, and another standout— the 4th Overall Tamworth Barrow at the Team Purebred National Show. Her subsequent genetic line graced us with the Dam of Hardwood and the $19,000 World Record Setting Tamworth Boar, “That Much Better”.

My proudest moment in the show ring is when I won 3rd Overall Breeding Gilt at Washington County Fair 2025 with my Tamworth gilt named Liberty. In 2024, I won Champion Tamworth Gilt with my TSC Showpig Hallie at the Washington County Fair, my first Tamworth experience that made me fall in love with the breed. This year, I was Grand Champion Tamworth Gilt and 3rd Overall Breeding Gilt at Washington County Fair with Liberty, and Reserve Champion Tamworth Barrow with my Tam Marshall. My Tams Can moment was in 2024, when I got to meet Tate in person while picking up Hallie and seeing the future animals on his farm. I plan to continue showing pigs and hope to become a veterinarian someday. TSC Showpigs and Tate have inspired me to work harder and become a better showman overall.

My proudest moment in the show ring was winning Champion Tamworth Barrow at the Indiana State Fair. I have won several Top 5 breed titles with Tams Can®, and every experience has been memorable from start to finish. My Tams Can moment was last year at our county fair when I placed 3rd Overall Gilt—it showed me that Tams Can® can get a bigger banner overall. I hope to become a lawyer one day, always learning from each show experience and remembering that mistakes are just learning opportunities.

My proudest achievement in the show ring was exhibiting the Grand Champion Tamworth Gilt at the 2025 Ohio State Fair and placing 5th Overall in the Supreme Drive. Throughout the 2025 season, I showed my Tamworth gilt ‘Clara’ over an eight-week period, earning 34 banners with her. Clara was much more than a show pig—she was an inspiration who taught me discipline, patience, and connection. Every time we stepped in the ring, she gave her all and pushed me to be a better showman. I’m a senior in high school planning to pursue nursing in college. My experience with Tams Can® and Suderman Swine has been instrumental to my success.
Luke Smith, a talented young showman from Ohio, has had a breakout season in 2025, capturing major wins at both the National Junior Swine Show (NJSS) and the Ohio State Fair Open Show. His barrow ‘Churro,’ sired by Trademark, exemplified the quality, structure, and show presence that define the Tams Can® program. Luke’s calm focus in the ring and dedication at home prove that success starts in the barn—with consistency, patience, and faith. He plans to continue showing Tamworths while mentoring younger showmen, embodying the Tams Can® spirit of faith, family, and relentless improvement.
