The donation of an antique phone by Stayner resident Jean Hadfield to Clearview Township was the catalyst for a heartwarming community partnership with Hospice Georgian Triangle (HGT) to help residents and visitors to the Clearview EcoPark process their grief
The antique phone was exactly the opportunity HGT was waiting for to provide a tool to help people feel connected to loved ones who have died, called a wind phone.
A wind phone is an unconnected phone in a peaceful setting where people can speak to someone they are grieving, creating a quiet and reflective space to remember and feel connected to them
Longtime community supporter George Christie then volunteered to create the
booth that houses the wind phone, the product of a true community partnership
The installation offers a meaningful place for reflection, remembrance and healing while supporting Hospice Georgian Triangle’s grief and bereavement work. It complements the Memorial Forest located next to the EcoPark, where living trees symbolize the memories of loved ones who have passed
The wind phone is located on the pond loop in Clearview’s EcoPark, located at 300 Mowat Street North in Stayner, and is available to anyone in need.

Short Term Rental Accommodation By-law
After public and stakeholder engagement through a survey, a draft by-law was created to be reviewed with Council and the public at an upcoming working session in July.
Creemore Library Branch Addition
The timeline for this initiative has been extended to early 2027 to take advantage of anticipated lower tender costs
Public Works Week 2026
Clearview’s Public Works Department hosted staff, council and local schools during National Public Works Week to promote what Public Works does.
Economic Development Strategic Plan
The planning process is almost complete, with the draft Strategic Plan to be presented to Council in July

A strong local economy helps create jobs, support local businesses, attract new services and amenities, and keep Clearview a great place to live, work and grow.
Thanks to a $31,144 Rural Ontario Development (ROD) Program grant, Clearview undertook an Economic Development Strategic Planning process
What is an Economic Development Strategic Plan? An Economic Development Strategic Plan is a roadmap for supporting local businesses, attracting new opportunities, creating jobs and building a strong local economy that benefits residents today and for years to come.
A successful economic development strategy can support local jobs and career opportunities, attract new businesses, services and amenities, strengthen existing businesses, encourage investment, and help fund municipal services and infrastructure. Together, these efforts contribute to a stronger and more vibrant community.
The process began in February with input from Clearview businesses, regional stakeholders, community organizations and residents. In March, public input was gathered through a community survey. This community consultation helped identify local opportunities, priorities and challenges that will help shape future economic development efforts
As part of the project, a Community and Situational Economic Analysis was completed to provide a detailed look at Clearview's population, workforce, businesses and local economic trends. The report is available online for those interested in learning more about the community
The draft Economic Development Strategic Plan outlines key actions that will guide sustainable business and employment growth in Clearview over the next five years and is scheduled to be presented to Council on July 13 for approval. platform that allows residents to purchase burn permits online called Community Connect The system is an upgrade from the previous version, allowing additional functionality for residents and Fire and Emergency Services.
All property owners interested in having an outdoor fire in Clearview Township are required to purchase a Burn Permit. Permits cost $10 per property and are valid for the calendar year
Purchasing your burn permit is easy through our free, secure and easy-to-use Community Connect platform, accessible at clearviewca/burn-permits The online system is available 24/7 from the comfort of home. Alternatively, burn permits can be purchased in person at the Clearview Administration Centre, during regular business hours
There are three permit types in Clearview:
1 Rural Permits for properties in rural areas
2 Settlement Permits for properties in the settlement areas of Nottawa, New Lowell, Creemore and Stayner.
3.Large Permits required for fires larger than 1 m x 1 m.
