Step back in time and discover the craftsmanship and character of our heritage carriages, each one a tribute to the golden age of rail.

Painstakingly restored to showcase their original splendour, they offer a refined and comforting setting that modern travel rarely matches. The classic livery reflects traditional railway colours, while interiors feature rich wooden marquetry, gleaming brass details, and beautifully laid tables. Every element has been thoughtfully chosen to create an atmosphere of quiet luxury and enduring charm.

Pullman Dining

Indulge in an exquisite onboard culinary journey with Pullman Dining, where impeccable service, attention to detail, and ever-changing views combine to create an experience unlike any other.

Inspired by the landscapes and regions we steam through, our menus are crafted using the finest locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. Each dish reflects the artistry and passion behind exceptional dining - an experience to be savoured, remembered, and cherished.

Guests are seated in plush armchair-style seats at elegantly dressed tables for two or four, adorned with crisp white linens, fine china, sparkling glassware, fresh flowers, and plump cushions - evoking the grandeur of a more refined era.

For those joining us on a day trip, your journey begins with a chilled Champagne Bellini, followed by a full English breakfast and a bakery basket. Mid-morning, pastries with tea and coffee are served before arriving at your chosen destination.

After an afternoon of sightseeing, our liveried stewards will welcome you back onboard with a refreshing glass of Champagne and a selection of canapés.

Settle into your seat and enjoy a four-course evening meal, complemented by half a bottle of wine per person.

We cater for a range of dietary requirements, including Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free, and Pescatarian options. Please advise our reservations team at least fourteen days prior to travel.

First Class

A sanctuary for those seeking a refined, leisurely experience without formal onboard dining.

First Class offers an unparalleled journey into the past aboard elegantly restored carriages, with spacious, cushioned seating arranged around tables for two or four.

Experience the essence of classic travel in our First Class carriages, where timeless charm meets modern comfort. Beautifully appointed interiors and attentive service reflect quiet sophistication, while large picture windows frame Britain’s most picturesque landscapes - making every moment onboard a memory to treasure.

Ideal for those seeking a relaxed journey, First Class allows guests to bring their own picnic while enjoying complimentary tea and coffee and a welcome celebratory drink served by our stewards. Additional drinks and snacks may be purchased to enjoy at your seat, or you can add a traditional Afternoon Tea to your booking (supplement applies) for a touch of indulgence.

Relive the elegance of yesteryear with an enchanting steamhauled adventure to Bath. Upon boarding, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your liveried steward as our train begins its graceful journey across the capital towards West London.

From there, we travel mile after mile through picturesque countryside, passing rolling hills and charming villages en route to the historic city of Bath. Renowned for its Roman heritage, Bath offers a captivating blend of museums, galleries, and architectural treasures—all within easy reach of the station and waiting to be explored.

Once we arrive, the time is yours to enjoy the city at leisure. Whether you choose to browse the independent shops, admire the Georgian architecture, or simply wander the cobbled streets, Bath promises a memorable escape.

After a delightful break, we gather at the station and welcome you back on board for the return journey.

From West London, our steam locomotive takes the lead, adding a nostalgic flourish to the journey as we travel towards the historic city of Cambridge - renowned for its ancient colleges, striking architecture, and the tranquil beauty of the ‘Backs’ along the River Cam. Alternatively, explore Ely, a delightful market town crowned by its magnificent cathedral and brimming with characterful independent shops.

The adventure continues on the Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway, where the engine climbs above the Devon hills before descending into the Dart Estuary at Kingswear. Whether you choose Kingswear or Paignton, your day will be enriched by coastal charm, heritage attractions, and the relaxed rhythm of seaside life.

The Spirit of Summer Lunch

A lunchtime circular journey from London through the Chiltern Hills. Step onboard for a magical escape that captures the spirit of yesteryear. Welcomed by our liveried stewards under the grand roof of Brunel’s London Paddington station, you settle into the beautifully appointed vintage carriages, complete with exquisite marquetry and plush interiors.

Our steam locomotive leads the way as we glide through the Thames Valley, bound for the rolling landscapes of the Chiltern Hills. Along the route, the countryside bursts into life with the season - a patchwork of vibrant flora, peaceful woodland, and sweeping views. The rhythmic beat of the engine and the ever-changing scenery beyond the window create a truly enchanting experience.

Savour a sumptuous seasonal lunch menu in Pullman Dining, or if you’re in First Class, bring your own picnic or treat yourself to a classic afternoon tea (supplement applies).

The Sunset Steam Express

A sunset circular journey from London through the Chiltern Hills. Our journey begins beneath the grand roof of London Paddington station, where our liveried stewards greet you onboard our beautifully restored vintage carriages. As the train gently departs, we leave the city behind and head into the leafy outskirts of West London. Soon, the Chiltern Hills rise around us - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, rich in character and history. As the sun dips toward the horizon, the landscape transforms into a golden tapestry of rolling chalk hills, ancient woodland, Iron Age hillforts, and stately Elizabethan homes.

Southend Central to Paignton & Kingswear via Dawlish

Embark on one of the most picturesque railway journeys in England and savour a day filled with nostalgia. Sink into your comfortable seat as we travel mile upon mile through verdant British countryside with stunning coastal views on our way to the English Riviera.

Our train will travel across the Capital and along the Thames Valley to Taunton, where we will be joined by our steam locomotive. Panoramic views unfold as we follow the estuary of the River Exe, sweeping around its mouth and travelling beside the seashore for mile upon mile.

The journey continues on the Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway, where our steam engine climbs high above the Devon hills before descending into the Dart Estuary at Kingswear. With the option to explore either Kingswear or Paignton, your day promises nostalgia and plenty of fresh sea air.

This journey will be steam-hauled between Taunton and Kingswear in both directions.

Horsham & Surrey to Oxford & Bicester

Experience vintage charm and classic elegance on a journey to the historic city of Oxford, renowned for its golden stone architecture, dreaming spires, and centuries of academic heritage. Alternatively, indulge in a day of retail therapy at Bicester Village, home to an array of designer boutiques set along spacious boulevards.

Leaving Surrey behind, we travel through West London and into the heart of the Chiltern Hills, where rolling chalk ridges, peaceful woodland, and timeless charm unfold around us as our steam locomotive powers through the landscape.

Whether you choose the elegance of Oxford or the style and sophistication of Bicester Village, your day promises discovery, indulgence, and a touch of nostalgia.

A HOLIDAY BY STEAM FROM LONDON

The Cornish Riviera

Tuesday 22nd - Friday 25th September 2026

Enjoy a four-day holiday from London aboard The Cornish Riviera - a nostalgic journey through the coastal beauty of the West Country. Travel in timeless style past dramatic cliffs, secluded coves and sparkling seas to the tranquil Cornish coast.

Day One: Your journey begins at London Paddington, greeted by our liveried steward, setting the tone for an unforgettable escape. Travel west aboard a vintage diesel or electric locomotive through rolling countryside and historic towns. At Taunton, our majestic steam engine takes over. Enjoy the gentle rhythm of steam travel as we travel towards Cornwall, with views of moorlands and coastline. As twilight falls, we stop at Truro for guests bound for St Mawes, followed by Penzance for those staying in St Ives.

Days Two and Three: Spend two leisurely days exploring Cornwall’s rich tapestry, relaxing and immersing yourself in its captivating natural beauty. From dramatic coastlines to world-famous gardens, discovery awaits at every turn or enjoy optional organised Steam Dreams excursions, which are likely to include visits to iconic attractions, picturesque villages, and a heritage railway.

Day Four: Return to London Paddington, steam-hauled past fishing villages and countryside, tracing the coast before heading inland. At Taunton, a diesel or electric locomotive resumes for the express run back to London.

Accommodation is booked on a bed and breakfast basis in both classes, with Pullman passengers enjoying dinner at their hotels on nights two and three. For those travelling in First Class, dinner is included on the second evening.

This holiday is steam-hauled between Taunton and Penzance in both directions.

Enjoy a long weekend from London to the Scottish capital, Edinburgh - exploring its magical winter wonderland, festive Christmas market and historic charm.

Embark on a magical long weekend tracing the historic route from London King’s Cross to the legendary city of Edinburgh - widely regarded as one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Travel along the East Coast Main Line, passing through picturesque countryside before crossing the Border Bridge to the storied city.

Spend three nights and two full days soaking up the festive spirit as Edinburgh transforms into a magical winter wonderland. Explore the city’s famous Christmas market, admire its historic charm glowing with seasonal sparkle, and discover why this captivating capital continues to enchant visitors year after year.

Day One: Your journey begins at London King’s Cross, where you’re warmly welcomed by our liveried steward, setting the tone for an unforgettable escape. We travel north via York, steeped in history and charm, where our majestic steam locomotive takes charge for the onward journey. From here, settle back and enjoy the rhythmic pulse of steam travel as we glide through picturesque landscapes in vintage style, arriving in Edinburgh by early evening.

Days Two and Three: Enjoy free time to take in Edinburgh’s many sights, or choose to join our optional lunchtime steam tour across the iconic Forth Bridge on day three (supplement applies).

Day Four: Our return journey takes us through the Pentland Hills and across the Lowlands, following the historic path once known as the Caledonian Main Line. Our steam locomotive will be put through its paces as we climb several summits en route to the English border.

At Carlisle, we part ways with our steam locomotive and continue south to London King’s Cross, hauled by a vintage diesel or electric locomotive.

60532 Blue Peter is the last remaining L.N.E.R. Class A2 Pacific and was one of the most powerful express passenger locomotives in the UK.

34046 Braunton is a ‘Bulleid Light Pacific’ express passenger engine designed by Oliver Bulleid.

70000 Britannia was the first of 55 Standard class 7 engines to be built in Crewe by British Railways.

71000 Duke of Gloucester is a British Railways Standard Class 8P built at Crewe works in 1954.

60007 Sir Nigel Gresley is an A4 class locomotive built by the London & North Eastern Railway in 1937.

61306 Mayflower was built for the London & North Eastern Railway, 61306 is one of two surviving B1 Class locomotives.

5029 Nunney Castle is a GWR Castle Class locomotive, built at Swindon Works in 1934.
