Urban Farm Center – it’s sprouting!

Construction is underway on the Urban Farm Center at the Lakeshore Campus in Waukegan after the groundbreaking ceremony May 2. Slated for completion in late 2026, the 24,000-square-foot facility will serve as a hub for education, wellness and community revitalization.

Meet the new Dean at Southlake Campus “Southlake has a strong legacy of excellence and a welcoming culture, and I look forward to building on that foundation. I will work to strengthen the campus’s role as an active partner in the community, working alongside nonprofits, businesses and schools,” Dr. Tricia Rosado said.

Students who are studying Health and Wellness Promotion, Massage Therapy and taking general education courses often find themselves at Southlake Campus for quick access to in-person classes close to home.

More time for what matters most For Lichang Zhang, pursuing an education in nursing is for more than just herself; it is also to be a role model for her daughter. Zhang chose CLC because of the flexible scheduling and multiple support systems.

Thanks to a free laptop from the CLC Foundation and scholarships that cover her tuition, Zhang is able to spend less time working and more time studying and enjoying time with her family.

Connecting artists across the county The James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts (JLC) is part of a new alliance called ArtsLink North.This initiative unites more than 40 local arts and cultural organizations, and it’s growing.The kickoff event, hosted by the JLC, introduced this initiative and its digital hub to local arts leaders.
