Our Sustainability Practices
We design understanding that the built-environment and our shared, global community are inseparable. Every day, we commit to transparently sharing our process and progress with the goal of pushing the entire building industry toward a more sustainable future. As a fully integrated subsidiary of Clayco, our sustainability efforts have been captured in an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report found here. Our practice stands strongly on five pillars of sustainability. This foundation ensures we always take the most holistic approach towards protecting and preserving our shared natural and cultural resources. The five facets of sustainability that anchor our work are:

Increase energy efficiency and decarbonization of energy, including embodied carbon.

Reduce potable water use and stormwater runoff in design and operations with attention paid to impacts on plant and animal species.

LJC is the design partner of Clayco, a large, turnkey building solutions provider. We work with clients independently, or in partnership, with Clayco and provide unparalleled service and crossdisciplinary knowledge.

New construction of the world’s largest manufacturing facility of advanced silicon battery materials for EV programs. The new factory will aid in meeting global decarbonization targets.
Blue Origin Engine Manufacturing Facility
A state-of-the-art fabrication and manufacturing space and just under 100,000 SF of Class-A engineering, collaboration and administrative office area. The building’s infrastructure is capable of receiving, manufacturing, fabricating, assembling, testing and shipping. Outside amenities include an inviting visitor entrance plaza and garden area. The garden provides walking paths, grilling and simple food prep, structures for shaded seating, picnicking and large gathering areas, adjacency to food truck parking space and open space for dog care.
