• Teach undergraduate courses in the field of Chemistry, such as General Chemistry I (CHEM 1111), General Chemistry II (CHEM 2212), Analytical Chemistry (CHEM 3320), and the corresponding laboratories for all courses), and other courses in the Chemistry academic field. • Function as the Academic Advisor for the newly designed Applied Chemistry Bachelor of Science degree, which offers both a concentration and a minor in nanotechnology, and teach related courses, such as: Chemistry of Nanomaterials (NANO 3000), Nanomedicine (NANO 3100), Nanotoxicology (NANO 3110), and Research Methods in Nanotechnology (NANO 3120). • Create modules to offer courses remotely using the Blackboard Collaborate Ultra platform. • Administer tests and other evaluation tools to determine the academic progress of the students in each of the Chemistry courses taught. Register students’ grades for each course offered, pursuant to the requirements of the academic calendar. • Perform research in the field of Applied Chemistry, including: Perform research in the field of Applied Chemistry, including: (i) traditional and Green synthesis of different nanomaterial; (ii) application of dose nanomaterial in different areas (Biomedical, Forensics and Environmental); and (iii) characterization of nanomaterials including: Optical Methods, Size and Shapes Determination, and Nanomaterial Distribution. • Maintain expertise in the Applied Chemistry field, particularly in nanotechnology. • Recommend improvements in curriculum design; • Collaborate with librarians in matters related to the development of collections of educational material in the field of Applied Chemistry and nanotechnology. • Participate in core course academic support programs, certification programs, and student professional associations. • Prepare institutional and research grant proposals under the sponsorship of external sources of funding; and • Publish research findings in peer review journals.
