STAFF IN FOCUS Brendan Seawright Our Branch Manager in Roma. Brendan is a Roma local where he grew up and his immediate and extended family all hail from. He lives and breathes the ag industry and he has been in and around the agricultural game pretty much his entire life. Brendan completed his apprenticeship with Cummins Diesel before joining Mounts Machinery. When Brown and Hurley purchased the Mounts business, Brendan stepped up and became the Branch Manager. With the speed of technology advancements in our industry we are fortunate that this is his specialty. He has vast knowledge of all manufacturers GPS systems, how to diagnose and trouble shoot and how to have them set up correctly.
Mick Clifford Mick is in charge of our Branch in Emerald and has been with the Brown and Hurley group for almost 4 years. Mick has a Service background and has been in & around the industry since 1989 when he started his apprenticeship in North Queensland. Mick is an Emerald local with himself & his family residing there for 16 years where he is part of the wider community and heavily involved in local junior sporting groups. Since opening the Branch in Emerald it has gone from strength to strength with repeat customers.

Single shooting is mixing one, two or more materials
Double shooting with blending means delivery of:

Flexicoil Depth matters
With the right seed placement, your crop will emerge more quickly and evenly, potentially increasing its value at harvest. The right placement usually means a compromise between the optimal depth for that seed and the current soil moisture profile. For example, deep sowing can help you access subsoil moisture in dry periods but yield can be reduced. Regardless of whether you are in a dry spell or experiencing wet conditions, it’s essential to use the right seeding equipment to maximise your chances of success. Growers benefit significantly from a machine that is highly adjustable and ensures minimal soil disturbance (which causes moisture loss) and good soil to seed contact. At the same time, the machine should prevent excess soil being thrown into adjacent furrows because this inadvertently increases the seeding depth. Many regions experience both weather extremes – dry and wet – meaning the seeding equipment chosen must be versatile enough to penetrate dry soils as well as maintain accurate depth placement in soft, sticky soil. The machine should deliver accurate, repeatable results in all conditions and, ideally, it should make the seeding process as efficient as possible. The investment made at the beginning of the season sets the scene for seeding success and, ultimately, increased profits.

BEYOND A REBUILD Testing and Quality Measures • • • • •
Replacement level engines with fuel systems undergo dyno testing to ensure proper oil pressure, exhaust temperature, horsepower, water and oil circulation, and overall functionality. Long block engines are spin-tested to confirm compression and oil pressure. Fluorescent magnetic particle inspection is used to identify surface flaws. Sediment testing confirms all remanufactured parts are clean for maximum operating life. Air decay testing will detect any fuel, oil, or water leaks.

A better process results in a better product •
Camshafts – Camshafts are examined and straightened, and all main journals and lobes are checked. Those that pass are machined to ensure proper valve lift and timing; those that do not meet specs are replaced with new.

Connecting Rods – Connecting rods are thoroughly cleaned and checked for straightness; those that do not meet specifications are replaced with new. Both crank and piston pin bores are checked for size, and 100% new bearings and bushings are installed.
Crankcases – Machining is performed to ensure all bores meet exacting dimensional specifications. Cylinder bores are honed with the latest technology. This level of precision ensures that bores meet EPA tier emission requirements. Wet sleeve engine sleeves are replaced 100% with new. •

Crankshafts – Crankshafts are dimensionally and structurally inspected, then ground and micro-polished to exacting tolerances.

Cylinder Heads – All cylinder heads are inspected for cracks; those that pass are milled to ensure flatness. Valve seats and guides are machined with precision equipment to ensure proper valve seating, recession, clearance and runout.

Cylinder Sleeves – Engine with wet sleeves are replaced 100% with new. In dry sleeve engines, cylinder bores are enlarged and honed. In the repair process, a liquid nitrogen cooling tank contracts cylinder repair sleeves before installation, so once set, they expand to a permanent, pressed fit.

Painting – Guards, plugs, and grease protectant are used to avoid painting active surfaces. This prevents system contamination, misalignment, or leak-causing gaps created from melting or flecked paint.
