CRICKHOWELL’S CL ARENCE HALL NEWSLETTER & WHAT’S ON
A busy Autumn ahead!

There’s so much to celebrate in Crickhowell this month. Join us in congratulating the following:
Crickhowell Garden Society on an excellent Flower Show in mid August. It was wonderful to see the Hall filled with all sorts of vegetables, fruits, flowers, baking and crafts.
The Rotary Club of Crickhowell and Crickhowell Volunteer Bureau for a tremendous Duck Race, raising much needed funds for local causes.
Living with Dementia, who recently announced that their fundraising concert with Elvis (Darren Graceland Jones) at the Hall in July raised £5,900!
Always at the heart of the community, the Clarence Hall is set for a busy Autumn! Many of our regular groups are restarting in September following the summer break and we are delighted to be hosting a wide range of events that will showcase talent, both local and national.
These include: Big Mac’s Wholly Soul Band in Concert; an evening with the Poet Laureate of social media, Brian Bilston; the Will Barnes Quartet Live; a lunch-time recital with the talented Uskulele; Crickhowell High School’s Awards; and a return of Mischievous Cow’s Vintage, Antique & Makers Market! All this, alongside our regular Bingo evenings, Persian rug sales, ESOL classes, u3a meetings, Dance Beats classes and Cantorion Phoenix rehearsals.
Work is also continuing on the Hall’s redevelopment, with the focus on our new extension and accessible entrance now that the refurbishment of the kitchen and main toilet facilities is largely complete.
Keep an eye out for posters, social media updates and the What’s On page of our website to find out more!
Crickhowell Place Plan

Crickhowell Town Council, with the support of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority, wants to shape a 15-year “Place Plan” for Crickhowell. The Plan aims to support the well-being of the local community. The Town Council wants to hear from residents, local businesses, voluntary organisations or anyone who has an interest in the future of the town. This is your opportunity to tell them your issues, ideas and ways to take Crickhowell forward.
One of the ways to get involved is to drop into the Clarence Hall from 10am to 5pm on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 September. Other opportunities for engagement will include the launch of a Place Plan website, survey and group based sessions.
