CRICKHOWELL’S
CL ARENCE HALL NEWSLETTER & WHAT’S ON A Star Performance! The Clarence Hall was delighted to host Abergavenny Star Players in August as they returned to the stage with their performance of the cult musical, RENT, raising much needed funds for St David’s Hospice. Based on Puccini’s beloved opera La Bohème, the show follows the ups and downs of a year in the life of a group of artistic friends living in Manhattan’s East Village. An enthralled audience was treated to a fantastic performance from start to nish, featuring an array of outstanding local talent. Well done to everyone involved!
A busy Autumn ahead… Always at the heart of the community, the Clarence Hall is set for a busy Autumn! Many of our regular groups are restarting in September following the summer break and we are delighted to be hosting a wide range of events that will showcase talent, both local and national. These include Crickhowell Flower Show, local legends Ryland Wallace and John Webb returning with another fascinating talk, a Victorian melodrama with Crickhowell & District Players, the entertaining Circus Berzercus, award winning Synergy performing in a charity concert with Alive & Kickin’ and performances from Dr Karl Kennedy, Hayseed Dixie, Rollin’ Stoned and Wolfgang Flür, alongside our regular Bingo nights. Do keep an eye out for posters and social media updates - there’s something for everyone!
