CL ARENCE HALL NEWSLETTER & WHAT’S ON Wonderland was simply Wonderful! At the end of June, a delighted audience was privileged to experience the wonder of “Wonderland”, a performance that showcased the talents of Dance Beats, with a guest appearance from Toppers School of Dance and Drama. How fortunate we are to have an organisation such as this in our community where creativity, imagination and dance skills are nurtured in a positive way!
Crickhowell Celebrates! In June, the residents of Crickhowell came together in the latest of our series of events to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. These comprised an evening with reworks in the Castle Grounds and various occasions at the Clarence Hall, including an impressive art exhibition with Torfaen Arts (pictured), a Celebration Tea Party for seniors, drawn mainly from local care homes, and a children’s Film Show. All of these events were a testament to how local volunteer organisations can work in partnership for the bene t of the community. At the Celebration Tea Party, volunteers from the Clarence Hall, Crickhowell Town Council, Crickhowell Rotary Club and other friends combined efforts to put on an excellent afternoon, with cream teas served on traditional tea services, a fascinating lm on the Queen’s reign and a rousing singalong to nish. Commenting on the successful event, Clarence Hall Event Director, Dian Winter said: “We’re all aware of the signi cant impact the pandemic has had on seniors in our local community. It was tremendous to see the Hall lled with fun and laughter once again. I am so grateful to everyone who gave unstintingly of their time!” Our next events continue in September, with information available in the August newsletter.
