We’ve reached our fundraising target! The Trustees of the Clarence Hall are delighted to confirm that thanks to the generosity of our community, we have reached our initial fundraising target of £95,000. This is tremendous news and means that we have now secured our grant of £100,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund, which was awarded in September 2021, raising £195,000 in total. We are very grateful to everyone who has contributed to our campaign – without your support, this achievement would not have been possible. As you are all aware, the works that we are proposing to complete as Phase 1 of the Hall’s refurbishment have been determined in response to our Community Consultation in 2020. Our intention is to continue fundraising over the next year to ensure that the specification for the refurbishment is as good as it can be and will deliver all the benefits we anticipate. In particular, feedback received from recent consultations with our key partners has suggested that a commercial grade kitchen would support many additional activities, including a seniors’ lunch club or meals on wheels service. We have therefore raised our fundraising target to £105,000 in order to deliver this, although this does not impact our Lottery grant. We are planning for work to commence in September this year on a phased basis, to enable the Hall to be used throughout by the many organisations it supports. These are exciting times for the Clarence Hall and we are delighted with the enthusiastic support the community has given our ambitious programme of refurbishment!
