Darrell and Nicole Bone treated the Chamber of Commerce board members and guests to lunch after a recent Ribbon Cutting and the food was delicious. PAW-PAW’S CATFISH-N-MORE has just opened at 240 Seventh Street North, Suite 200 in Town Mart. They are a fullservice restaurant open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and from 4-9 p.m. on Sundays. They are closed all day on Wednesday. Catfish is their specialty but they serve a variety of great food including a daily “down home cooking” meal. Moore receives Distinguished Citizen Award The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Richard Moore, former chairman, president and chief executive office of Peoples Southern Bank in Clanton has been selected to receive the Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Citizen Award for his many contributions to the residents of Chilton County.

Prior to becoming a full-time banker in 1994, Moore practiced law and served as an officer and director of Peoples Southern Bank. He is a former chairman of the Alabama Bankers Association, member of the Alabama Bankers Association board of directors and the University of Alabama President’s Cabinet. Mr. Moore also served multiple terms on the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Birmingham Branch.

Moore received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama in 1973 and a juris doctorate

degree from the University Of Alabama School Of Law in 1976.

Richard Moore served his community for many years as a member of the City of Clanton and Chilton County Industrial Development Boards, president of the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce and the Clanton Lions Club.

According to Chamber of Commerce President Billy Singleton, “Richard Moore has served the people of Chilton County for many years and is a testament to the concept of civic involvement and commitment to his community and fellow citizens. The City of Clanton and Chilton County are remarkable places to live and work because of the efforts and dedication of civic leaders like Richard Moore.

The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize Richard Moore for his many contributions and service to Chilton County.”

Coaches Corner will be on Tuesday, May 14 at Alabama Power at noon.
