The junction A is the connection between structural wall and roof. The process of making the accurate model is approaching the information provided by the architect first (figure 2). Then drew the sketch to increase the layout of the structural components (figure 3, 4). Finally use the dimension that measure from technical section drawing to begin the digital modeling (figure 5,6).
CONSTRUCTION
PROCESS
To sum up the junction A, in personal perspective, the CLT structural roof and structural wall is the most important element which is the first component assembled in construction process. It is supporting the most of weight and connect the secondary load-bearing structure such as wall tie. To modeling digitally would not worry about gravity, but it would be more challenging build it in correct order. In addition, the brick facade on the roof is most trick part of modeling. There are two critical elements to prevent the brick slid down. First, the designer place two Ancon SPB wall tie between each two brick, which is fixed through waterproof membrane to the plywood board. The other one is an Ancon CFA steel angle which fixed to the structural CLT board at the edge of the roof. It would stop the brick slid down.
