We have reached round six of the 2025 season without disruption which is a much different story to last season, which we are thrilled to see.
Regrading will be looked at across all competitions following round seven games
The Luke Lewis Cup open age representative clash with Penrith juniors is only a few weeks away, and a preliminary squad will be confirmed in the next few days. The expanded format this year will see challenge matches between the leading teams of u13, u14 and u15 gold competitions in both districts, making a great celebration of community Rugby League on Saturday 7 June at Windsor.
It’s great to see the Tiny Tots program has commenced at CJRL clubs in recent weeks. This has been a major success in recent seasons and a great way for clubs to engage potential players for future years. The images we see coming out of these sessions are a wonderful example of how much enjoyment the game of Rugby League can bring.
Also, a congratulations to CJRL teams who are competing in Southern Corridor competitions and doing CJRL proud. If current form continues CJRL will be well represented in finals of these competitions.
Please note that the RISE Academy are inviting expressions of interest from coaches and participants. This is a great new initiative that provides a holistic approach to development. Checkout the flyers in the following pages to register your interest.

Some would say that Shire local and proud Aquinas Colt Max DeCelis is living the dream! At just 17 years old, he has been scouted to play for Nottingham side Plumtree Cricket Club. Max has been a sports fanatic since a young age, and after successfully completing the cricketing programme through Endeavour Sports High, Max and his family decided it was the right time to pursue his dream!
Back home, Max has established himself as somewhat of an all-rounder. He was a vital part of Endeavour Sport's High team, which recently won the Davidson Shield, as well as a member of the Aquinas Colts' under-17 squad, which faced Como in the previous year's Grand Final. With talent in both areas, Max had to decide between the two sports, and in the end, he decided to follow his love of cricket. We talked to Max's father, who often draws comparisons between rugby league and cricket, joking that at the level he plays! "You’ve got to be able to get whacked!"
Although Max was signed up and prepared to play for the Aquinas under-18 squad this season, he had to quickly make a decision when this opportunity presented itself. But who wouldn't want to travel to another country and play their favourite sport? Thus, the decision wasn't too difficult!
Max is undoubtedly taking advantage of the warm weather, as he has headed into a balmy English summer to battle the green and grassy pitches. In his first game for the club, he was able to notch 22 runs batting at 3 and receive praise for his excellent wicketkeeping. Max emerged as the second-highest scorer, demonstrating his already significant effect at his new club.
The entire Cronulla Junior Rugby League community wishes Max good luck for the rest of the season and hopes he enjoys this amazing experience!

Congratulations Jye.
Player of the Week
Thanks to our new Female Pathways Partner, Johnny Gio’s, our female player of the week award goes to Annika Picker from the De La Salle Open Women’s tackle team.
Annika led the way in her teams big debut win over Westerns Suburbs on Sunday.
Team Liaison Officer
Each team must provide a “Team Liaison Officer” (TLO) who will act as a contact point for the Ground Manager during fixtures at CJRL venues. Should supporters /spectators from either club behave in a manner that would previously been dealt with by the Ground Manager, from this point the Ground Manager will engage the relevant Team Liaison Officer to address this issue with the spectators involved.
The Ground Manager at each venue will hold two Hi-Vis Pink vests that each Team Liaison Officer will be required to wear during the course of the match so they can be easily identified. The TLO is to make themselves known to the Ground Manager prior to the start of the match, and names of each TLO recorded on match sheets.
The Team Liaison Officer will be required to remain near the bench area for his or her team during the match, but remain outside the roped/fenced playing area.
Ground Managers and Team Liaison Officers shall not be permitted to drink alcohol prior to or whilst acting in these roles.
The Team Liaison Officer will be required to assist in resolving any situation that may occur relating to their teams’ spectators/supporters. ie: trying to calm the situation down before it escalates.
The Team Liaison Officer will work with and assist the Ground Manager. The Ground Manager still has the responsibility of maintaining control of spectators, interchange bench areas, and liaising with match officials, this is not the role of the Team Liaison Officer.
At the end of the match the Hi-Vis Pink vest is to be handed back to the Ground Manager (not left on the interchange bench or on the ground).
The Team Liaison Officer (as per the Ground Manager) should be a person capable of maintaining a calm demeanour and be a minimum of 18 years of age. Ideally the TLO would be someone closely aligned with the team but cannot be carrying out an accredited match day role (coach, trainer etc).
WITHOUT EACH TEAM LIAISON OFFICER BEING IN PLACE ALONG WITH THE GROUND MANAGER, THE MATCH OFFICIAL MAY REQUEST THE GROUND MANAGER ADDRESS THIS IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE MATCH COMMENCES
