CJRL match officials on duty at NSWRL junior rep grand finals – (L to R) Rami Abu-Mansour, Sal Marigliano, and Josh Blackman.
Saturday, May 3, 2025, wasn’t just about big plays and thrilling tries it was also a standout day for some of Cronulla Sutherland Referees brightest young officials, who delivered exceptional performances across all Junior Representative Grand Finals at Leichhardt Oval.
In the Lisa Fiaola Cup Grand Final, Rami Abu-Mansour did a brilliant job in the in-goal role, backing up big calls to see Parramatta claim a historic 26–10 win over the Central Coast Roosters. His focus and positioning proved invaluable.
Meanwhile, in the Tarsha Gale Cup Grand Final, touch judge Josh Blackman impressed on the sideline as the Eels stormed back from a 16–0 deficit to beat the Roosters Indigenous Academy 28–16. Blackman’s sharp eyes and confidence ensured the contest was decided on merit, with players and coaches alike appreciating his consistency.
Lastly, in the SG Ball Cup Grand Final, referee Sal Marigliano was cool, calm, and in complete control as the Sydney Roosters pulled off a heart-stopping 33–26 extra-time win over the Parramatta Eels. With the game tied after a dramatic finish in regular time, Marigliano’s composure and fair judgment helped keep things flowing smoothly in a pressure-packed atmosphere. His effort was a testament to how far he’s come and how far he’s headed in the officiating world.
Together, all of these officials weren’t just part of the games they helped make them great!

Sunday, May 4th was a special day at Scylla Bay Oval as the SCORE Sharks laced up their boots for their very first game of rugby league against the ComoJannali Crocs. This milestone match marked the beginning of a meaningful new chapter in inclusive sport within the Cronulla-Sutherland District Junior Rugby League.
The SCORE Sharks are a team made up of people living with disability, brought together through a proud partnership between the Cronulla Sharks and The Disability Trust – Miranda/SES Region. Led by NRLW star and Cronulla Sharks Equal Access Program Lead, Emma Verran, this collaboration is part of a broader commitment to provide inclusive sporting opportunities and ensure that everyone in our community has the chance to experience the joy and camaraderie of rugby league.
A huge thank you to the Cronulla-Sutherland JRL, its clubs, and especially the Como-Jannali Crocs for welcoming the SCORE Sharks so warmly and embracing the inclusive format of the match. Special thanks also goes to the Cronulla Referees association, whose support and flexibility helped make the day a success.
This program will continue to build over the coming weeks and will culminate in a showcase exhibition game at Sharks Stadium on June 12th, where the SCORE Sharks will take on their local rivals, the SCORE Dragons. We can’t wait to see these inspiring teams run out under the lights in what promises to be a fantastic celebration of inclusive rugby league.

What an achievement by Yarrawarrah’s U14 leaguetag team. After forming in 2024 and not winning a game, they broke their duck when the toppled neighbours Engadine 20-8 in front of a vcal home crowd on Sunday.
That’s the type of achievement that deserves the Team of the Week accolade.
