REGIONAL DIRECTOR

Welcome to this very special occasion for NA’AMAT USA Cleveland Council. We are so honored to bestow the 2025 Golda Meir Award to one of Cleveland’s true VIPs, Cantor Kathy Sebo.

As our major fundraiser of the year, please know that we greatly appreciate each of you for your support of Cantor Kathy and your support of NA’AMAT. Currently, the needs for our services to children and families in Israel is tremendous. Tonight you will learn about all that NA’AMAT does in Israel and why our help is so vital. Cantor Kathy understands this, and after tonight’s program you will too. With a 4-star rating on Charity Navigator and a Platinum rating on GuideStar, you can feel good about NA’AMAT USA as an organization worthy of your support.

Mazel Tov, Kathy! May you go from strength to strength.

NA’AMAT USA Cleveland Council

Dear Friends,

On behalf of NA’AMAT USA, we are honored to join in celebrating Cantor Kathryn Wolfe Sebo as this year’s recipient of the Annual Golda Meir Award. For decades, Cantor Sebo has lifted her voice in song, in service, and in leadership, breaking barriers as one of the first women cantors in a Conservative synagogue, inspiring congregants with her music, and dedicating herself to strengthening Jewish life in Cleveland and beyond.

Cantor Sebo’s story is one of vision and devotion. From the concert hall to the bimah, she has used her gifts not only to inspire but also to serve. Her longstanding commitment to Israel-minded organizations and to NA’AMAT USA reflects her deep belief in the power of women to build, to nurture, and to lead.

This year, in directing the gifts given in her honor, Cantor Sebo is again choosing to have deep impact. She has dedicated these contributions to rebuilding playgrounds and implementing critical safety updates at NA’AMAT’s multipurpose daycare center in Sderot. This unique center serves children and families living at the very edge of crisis—those facing abuse, addiction, trauma, or the constant shadow of war. It is often the last stop before foster care, a place where children can receive therapy, stability, and hope. After the devastation of October 7th, when Sderot was so deeply scarred, her decision ensures that this center will again be a refuge of safety, healing, and joy.

Cantor Sebo’s legacy is one of song, service, and strength. By linking her name to the renewal of Sderot’s daycare center, she is giving Israel’s most vulnerable children the chance to laugh, to learn, and to dream despite the challenges that surround them.

With gratitude for all that she has done and continues to do, and with admiration for her example of leadership rooted in compassion and courage, we wish Cantor Sebo and her family many more years of music, meaning, and blessing.

Dear Friends,

EVENT CO-CHAIRS

Today, Cantor Kathy Sebo is being recognized and honored for her service and caring to this community by receiving the 2025 Golda Meir Award.

The name “Meir”, of Hebrew origin, means … “One who illuminates.”

It is associated with enlightenment, wisdom, and guidance. It comes from the root meaning “to shine.”

Clearly that symbolizes the life of Golda Meir, however it also symbolizes the amazing life of our very own Cantor Kathryn Wolfe Sebo.

Congratulations Cantor Kathy … You are a shining star!

With love, Joy and Tony
