If there is one thing my career as an estate planning attorney has taught me about life, it is that you never know when something is going to happen. While I am blessed that my parents who are 78 and 75 are still around, they are not around me. I live in Ohio and they live in Florida. I grew up in Buffalo, N.Y., went to college for four years in Ithaca, N.Y., before moving to Ohio in 1997 for law school. So, for almost 30 years I have only seen them on vacations and long weekends. in Florida with them. During my time with them, I would like to make a memoir recounting all of the experiences and wisdom they have gleaned from their lives. The last month I would spend with my sister and her two children in California. Also living so far away, I have never had more than six days straight with them.
