By Car

From the east, I-70, I-64 and I-55 head west across the Mississippi River and into downtown St Louis.

I-70 runs north of downtown past the airport and west through Missouri

I-55 turns south past the Anheuser-Busch brewery and continues through southeastern Missouri

I-64, which the locals call Highway 40, continues west through St Louis, past Forest Park to the Missouri River

From the southwest, I-44 begins in downtown St Louis and runs along the former path of Route 66 to Springfield, Missouri

Use the light rail transit system, called the MetroLink, which operates from 4 a m to 1 a m on weekdays and weekend Union Station holds a MetroLink station The red line will take you from Lambert Airport directly to Union Station See the schedule and purchase tickets in the transit app

By Train?

While the final passenger train departed from Union Station on Oct. 31, 1978 at 11:38 p.m., there are three Amtrak routes that approach the city from the north, south, and west - the Illinois Service, the Missouri River Runner, and Texas Eagle.
