Establish a List: Compile all the candidates for your renovation – three is a decent number to start with – and use your initial interactions with them to determine which you’ll be most comfortable with as you move forward.

Take a Closer Look: Look past the lowest bid to the individual details. You want to know more than just the cheapest option; you also want to know who’s best equipped to give you everything on your wish list.

Double- and Triple-Check: Compare the research you’ve done with the contractor’s promises, and see if they match up. Has the contractor earned your trust?

The homeowners wanted a space that expressed an open, active and contemporary aesthetic. With diagonal lines, as well as contrasting colors and light, this remodel features striking modern design that achieves the homeowners’ wishes.

The featured monochromatic gray floors, kitchen island and cabinetry dramatically contrast with orange-toned wood elements and colorful dĂŠcor, creating a playful landscape where the eye can wander. To bring in natural light, Nicholson created an oversized window over the sink, accompanied by skylights to brighten the space. Sleek, modern lighting places a spotlight on the kitchen island, completing the modern design.

Dynamic hallways leading into the space showcase the contemporary design, with a room featuring an internal window wall and an open wood wall where guests can peek into the dining area. The cool, dark colors, such as gray and black, mixed with the warm orangetoned wood solidify the active environment.

trends Outdoor Living with Indoor Comfort Remodel by Renovations Unlimited

Seamlessly transitioning indoor and outdoor living has been an uprising trend. These homeowners wanted their outdoor space to be utilized during the extended seasons of early spring/late fall, and innovative solutions were used to accomplish that goal.

Concealed Phantom retractable screens, which move up and down with one touch of a remote, were installed. Hanging gas heaters and thermal Bluestone pavers provide warmth to the space, making it comfortable in the cooler months.

As the thermal Bluestone transitions to flagstone, homeowners can entertain their guests with a full outdoor kitchen! A Lynx built-in grill, refrigerator drawers and stainless steel cabinetry are paired with a built-in Green Egg Smoker to complete this outdoor kitchen, making it any avid griller’s dream.

The same stone is used for both the indoor fireplace and the outdoor one to tie both living spaces together. A buck antler chandelier hangs above the family room, bringing the great outdoors inside.

The stack stone gas fireplace was strategically positioned to be viewable for both indoor and outdoor guests, and the partially enclosed patio floor was raised to meet the level of the home to marry the indoor and outdoor living spaces.

To complete this outdoor oasis, a water feature was installed near the outdoor kitchen to bring peace and serenity to the patio. The homeowners can enjoy spa-like sounds of natural running water without leaving their own back yard.

trends Off the Wall Design Remodel by The Cleary Company

Dazzling walls complement stunning designs in newly remodeled rooms. Gone are the days where walls are painted in neutral colors; an off-the-wall design can liven up any space. This remodel features dimensional mosaic tile that adds visual interest and breaks up the monochromatic color palette of the kitchen, creating a unique wall design.

Whimsical wallpaper can change the aesthetic of any room. This bathroom remodel uses white elements in the flooring tile and appliances, and as the primary color in the wallpaper to reflect the light, making the room brighter. The colorful butterflies contrast the white, black and gold elements of the room, bringing the bathroom to life.

Add a unique splash of eye-catching design by extending the backsplash around the kitchen. The gradient gray subway tiles wrap behind the sink and into the dining area, climbing all the way to the ceiling. To add contrast, marble was used for the backsplash above the stove, matching the countertops to draw the viewer’s eyes.

Wood doesn’t just belong on the floor. Natural woodpatterned wallpaper is a great way to have the popular natural look of wood floors as a statement wall in any space.

1 1 Removing the wall between the dining room and kitchen made all the difference to this kitchen, and also to the homeowner’s entertaining schedule! Plus, there was enough room for a fabulous walk-in pantry behind the fridge.

2 Moving the dining room to the rarely used formal living room was the perfect solution, and now it’s just a few steps from the bar sink and wine fridge. Floating shelves create an ideal spot for fun accessories and match the finish of the cabinets with glass doors.

3 Renovating the entire first floor made room for a spacious island as well as an area for kitchen dining. The custom cabinetry, quartz countertops and gorgeous marble tile prove that a white kitchen doesn’t have to be boring!
