Message from the President It is my great pleasure to offer this edition of Renovations, NARI of Central Ohio’s Resource Guide.

This publication serves as a consumer remodeling project guide as well as a resource for our NARI members. Whether you are a homeowner looking for a professional remodeler or an industry professional looking to build your business network, this publication will introduce you to the most qualified professionals in the remodeling and home improvement industry.

As a homeowner, you will find professional, NARI-qualified firms to guide you through your remodeling project. Also in this issue are several outstanding examples of the high-quality workmanship typical of our NARI members, as well as articles written to help you understand the remodeling process.

The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) represents professional remodeling and renovation contractors, product manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, lending institutions, and related service providers. NARI serves as the voice for the industry and as an ally for our nation’s homeowners.

Our local Chapter in central Ohio has served the community for over 30 years. Our members provide jobs within our community, improve environments, increase housing values, reduce sprawl and enhance everyday quality of life for their clients.

Convenience is a key consideration for families, and this setup allows family members to quickly fill a water bottle or coffee cup on the way out the door.

Custom Butler Bar and Storage This modern-day storage piece inspired by an antique American apothecary chest has the patina of a century of wear and tear because of its matte black paint and worn edges.

For this bathroom, the homeowners wanted: • To update with new fixtures and finishes; • A larger shower; • A more modern and masculine style; • A leveled-out floor to deal with a sagging ceiling in the room below; • Updated plumbing and electrical lines; and • Improved ventilation for the bath fan.

The new and improved bathroom has sleek fixtures, including a wall-mounted faucet and sink and a wall-hung toilet, to make the space feel modern. It has a decorative black frame, and pink tiles have been removed, giving it a more masculine appearance.

The floating granite vanity top has hidden supports and the custom medicine cabinet is extra deep. The shower is much bigger and now has a ledge for soap and shampoo bottles. Finally, framing issues were corrected and new lighting, plumbing and ventilation were added.
