Albert Street utilities works update Wyndham Street to Kingston Street/Durham Street West Aotea Station - Utilities investigations and relocations – 14 October 2019 to early 2020 Early works for the City Rail Link (CRL) Aotea Station are underway. On 14 October, we will start utilities investigations on both sides of Albert Street, between Wyndham Street and the Kingston Street/Durham Street West intersection, with works extending into Kingston Street. These works require the temporary closure of the slip lane from Wyndham Street to Durham Street West to vehicles for approximately 10 weeks from 14 October to 20 December 2019. If these dates change we will let you know in advance. • •

Pedestrian access will be maintained. Access to the two Wilson carparks will be maintained via Durham Street West and Albert Street.

Signage will be put in place before the closure to advise users of the slip lane about the upcoming changes. We are liaising with neighbouring businesses to ensure their delivery and access requirements are met. What’s going to happen The work will start with utility investigations – surveying sewer and stormwater lines for around 1-2 weeks. This involves digging trenches in the footpath and road with a mini excavator and using a hydro-vac truck to suck away ground material, revealing pipes under the ground. Utility relocation crews will follow, creating trenches 50m to 60m long at a time. They will backfill trenches and reinstate the footpath as they go. Each trench will take around four to six weeks and will involve work on the road and footpath up to property boundaries. We will always maintain access to properties. Work hours are 7am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday. Site Map for Albert Street utility works, Wyndham Street to Durham and Kingston Streets:
