Overview WAITEMATĀ STATION (BRITOMART)

WORKS

How to contact the Waitematā Station (Britomart) team

There is still work to be done to prepare Waitematā Station (Britomart) for when New Zealand’s largest infrastructure project – City Rail Link – opens in late 2024. Once complete, Waitematā Station (Britomart) will be transformed from a dead-end stop, into a two-way through station connecting downtown Auckland to Maungawhau Station (Mt Eden). The City Rail Link (CRL) includes the creation of two brand new stations, provisionally named Te Wai Horotiu Station (Aotea) and Karanga a Hape Station (Karangahape), along the way. Most of the works will be underground in the station and will not affect neighbours at surface level. However, occasionally works will be required at street level – particularly in Tyler Street and Britomart Place. Works will be managed by CRL Ltd and delivered by Link Alliance and Martinus Rail, in partnership with Auckland Transport and KiwiRail. When we are finished, Auckland will be left with a world-class rail station.

If you have any questions or concerns about our works, please email the Waitematā Station (Britomart) team at info@cityraillink.govt.nz or phone us on 0800 CRL TALK (275 8255) and press option 1 for Waitematā Station (Britomart) work. *Official use of gifted City Rail Link station names, including Waitematā Station, is subject to a New Zealand Geographic Board decision. Visit our Meet Your Stations webpage to find out more about the naming process.

Thank you for your patience, we’re almost there.
