Road changes in your area To prepare for the permanent closure of the Normanby Road level crossing in June 2021, Link Alliance will undertake early road improvements at the Mt Eden/Boston Road intersection from May 2021. The permanent closure of the Normanby Road level crossing will improve people’s safety by separating people, cars and trains. These road improvements at the Mt Eden and Boston Road intersection will include the widening of Boston Road through temporary removal of 8 parking spaces (see map below). This work is part of the wider road improvements in the area which have been previously notified including: • Installation of traffic lights for the duration of the Normanby Road level crossing closure (10-12 months commencing June) • The addition of a second traffic lane from Boston Road to Mt Eden Road • Minor reshaping of traffic islands and footpath
