The CRL Project City Rail Link Limited (CRLL) has responsibility for delivery of the City Rail Link (CRL), a large rail infrastructure project in Auckland. CRL is a 3.45km twin tunnel underground rail link up to 42 metres below the city centre transforming the downtown Britomart Transport Centre into a two-way through station that better connects the Auckland rail networks. It includes a re-developed Mt Eden Station, where the CRL connects with the North Auckland (Western Line) and two new underground stations (midtown at Wellesley & Victoria Streets and uptown at Mercury Lane, off Karangahape Road). The Project is a link in an existing 97km rail network sharing freight and metro operations. The Project’s total cost is expected to be within a funding envelope of $4.4 billion, with the CRL due for completion in 2024. More information about the Project is available on: www.cityraillink.govt.nz Key Purpose The key purpose of this role is to support the development of the system-wide CRL rail 'Safety Case' to support Railway licence holder approvals. The role includes review and technical assessment of contractor and the Link Alliance deliverables against the Project Systems Assurance Management Plan, and international standards such as EN50126, which include rail operational safety assessment, system reliability assessment, and review and audit of contractor and Link Alliance adherence to engineering, and organisational processes and practices. The role includes undertaking specific risk and safety and reliability studies to validate or assure contractor and alliance outputs. On occasions the role will provide direct technical support to the Link Alliance Safety Assurance team, while maintaining separation when conducting the client-side review function to Link Alliance outputs. Overall the role provides a broad range of technical engineering and business process support in the areas of technical risk assessments, reliability engineering, safety analysis, and rail and station operations. Assurance Summary Report (CRL 'Safety Case'). • Support the collation, verification, validation of safety evidence for the Annual Safety Assurance Summary Report. • Support the integration of the Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) model, and supporting evidence into the Annual Safety Assurance Summary Report. • Support the collation and review of Contractors and the Link Alliance Safety Assurance Reports and relevant evidence for each project stage to inform the project-wide Annual Safety Assurance Summary Report.
Assurance Summary Report is published in June each year. • Annual Safety Assurance Summary Report is complete, comprehensive, and technically sound.
