Meeting notes Welcome – The CLG members were welcomed and reminded of the importance of their participation. Also, the photo montage video was played to see the scene

Station update - An overview of the project progress made to date and identified what was being done over the next 3 months. A stakeholder commented that communication of project has been well managed so far and keen for this level of communication to continue regarding upcoming works.

Beresford Square - Everyone wants to know about the public realm – what will in the position of the offices at the bottom of Beresford when we are finished. Dean Shields from the Chatham Apartments mentioned that about his three/four basement level building being in the path of the mined tunnel.

Mercury Lane – A brief overview of the project works to date was provided and what to expect next.

Stakeholders were concerned about loss of parking and loading bays along Mercury Lane. It was advised that the next two months of work would be intense (demolition and erecting sound shed) but then we will be in the sound structure and working below ground so it will be less intense.

Tunnels – An overview of the tunnel process and what to expect was provided. The Parisian building is on a slope to Myers Park and the property owner was concerned about stability with the tunneling happening subterranean. It was explained that the building was far enough away that it was not expected to be impacted. It was explained that the tunneling is in good competent rock. Analysis on buildings that might be affected has already been done. If the building has not been surveyed it is likely it is not in a risk zone – Babbage have already undertaken a survey on request of the stakeholder. This information has been previously shared with the stakeholder.

Traffic Management - Feedback regarding the change direction of Cross Street from the owner of Rendell’s building, tenants include Asian supermarket and all deliveries come eastbound on Cross Street. The stakeholders were concerned that now deliveries can only come via K’ Road and westwards into Cross Street. Delivery vehicles are large and may struggle to get round the corner.

Fresh produce is delivered once a day and meat is delivered in a larger refrigerated truck which may not be able to turn in due to the utilities works on the corner of Mercury lane / Cross street. Overall, they would like clear information on the utility works especially switch over and date on Cross street one-way switch to inform delivery drivers. They have had impact on the front from the K road enhancements and now from behind with Cross street.

Other feedback was they saw construction fencing going up and wondered what was going on. Why was there works going on at the same time at both corners of Cross street? Due to these works, car parking was taken away today on cross street and this is becoming a nightmare for businesses on the block. If you can limit the amount of car parking being reduced would be a great help. They have stated that overall, on K’Road (up to 130 car parks have been lost between both projects).

Businesses regularly do parking surveys and count lost spaces. If you can do all you can to and retain parking it would be much appreciated.

Family bar owner mentioned that driveway next to Mercury Theatre is used for access to the flats above the businesses. Main deliveries to the bar are via K Road loading zone and he foresees issues with heavy pallets trying to transport over the proposed cycle lane and separator island.

Environmental Monitoring – Jon Payne talked generally about environmental monitoring. It was identified as to the location of the monitors and why there were no more being provided. An overview of noise and vibration levels, how this is monitored, also dust monitoring was addressed Alex Brohnham from the local Board had general questions about noise and vibration and finding out about the project.

Q and As •

Will parking and loading zones be reinstated on Mercury lane? o There are no current plans for public parking to be reinstated but we will be reinstating loading zones there in the near future at the top of Mercury Lane.

Can we help with her insurance and council application to get the graffiti removed from the side of her building on Mercury Lane? The council have denied permission due to our works and traffic TMP on the lane. o Cecilia to pass details of the contractor carrying out the works, Link Alliance to liaise with them regarding the required traffic Management for the works.

When will the main works be finished at Mercury Lane as she wants to pacify her tenants and be able to plan? o The next two months? Will be the most intense but then we will be in the sound structure and working below ground.

Will the noise be better than at Albert St? o

A detailed CNVDWP has been written to try and reduce the impacts but will be down to the management of the construction and contractors

Will the project run on time? o

Will the city scape design of Beresford Square and Mercury Lane be open to the Public? o

It is currently on schedule and aim to remain so

As far as we are aware this is likely.

Questions related to mechanical ventilation, what is it and what does it look like, how is it installed, can residents keep the unit at the end if they desired and who qualifies for treatment? o

Mechanical ventilation is an air exchange unit allowing filtered, fresh air to be brought inside while windows are closed. Currently we are not able to provide a

picture of what the mechanical ventilation looks like as it is highly dependent on the size of the room, the location etc. A contractor will be at the resident apartment in question next week and will be able to give us a better idea after. Most likely ducting to be installed through glazing to minimise impact and can be easily restored at the end of the project. It was indicated resident could keep it at the end of the project if they so wished. o

CNVDWP classifies those as shift works and people sleeping during the day (i.e. during construction hours) with living spaces facing the works is eligible for treatment.

Owner committee has been asked to identify who are eligible based on this criteria but are struggling regards to privacy issues of residents, tenants etc., accuracy of volunteered information provided and generally getting the word out to capture all people within the block. Asked if CRL would be able to support on giving notices etc.? o

If there was any property damage to the Parisian Building as part of our works, would CRL / Link Alliance insurance be liable for repairs? a. Should Parisian apartments Body Corporate get additional insurance in case of damage from our works?

Is the building description of the Parisian Apartments correct in the Babbage report?

We responded that vehicle tracking was done via 10.8m truck. We will follow up on the refrigerated truck dimensions. Butcher truck much longer / follow up size of butcher truck.

The council have denied permission due to our works and traffic TMP on the lane for Cecilia Lo owner of 248 K’Road to have graffiti removed from her building. DF offered to investigate 4

it for her and see if it something we can resolved with the council and our traffic management plan in the future.
