Palm Cemetery

In 1906, Loring Chase deeded property over to the City of Winter Park to be specifically used as a cemetery and requested that the southeast corner to be used for his burial. He was buried there August 24, 1906, and his marble obelisk that stands over five feet tall can still be seen today. The inscription memorializes his historical importance to the city as “one of the founders of Winter Park in 1881.”

Pineywood Cemetery

Pineywood Cemetery was established in 1890 and is the oldest cemetery in Winter Park. Formerly managed by the Pineywood Cemetery Association, the cemetery was deeded back over to the city in 1970. A rich history of Winter Park is recorded on the markers with the names of families who are at rest in Pineywood. The cemetery represents the city’s history, its people and families. 1810 S. Lakemont Ave.
