Jasmine Forsberg

Jasmine Forsberg, known for Broadway’s SIX The Musical®, Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends, and Here Lies Love, is overjoyed to be back onstage in Winter Park after nearly a decade since her first-ever cabaret at the Winter Park Playhouse! From spending her childhood on central Florida stages to working alongside Broadway legends, Jasmine takes the audience on a tour of the songs and stories that have shaped her artistic journey. Featuring music by Rodgers & Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Ariana Grande, as well as her original songs, Jasmine creates a vibrant and personal evening while sharing the stage with bright young artists from the Winter Park community.

“Forsberg is a standout among standouts, her arena-filling voice pole-vaulting through melismata…”

–San Francisco Chronicle

bio

Forsberg is a New York City-based actress, songwriter and voiceover artist originally from Orlando, Florida. She has performed on Broadway in SIX The Musical® (Jane Seymour), Here Lies Love (Maria Luisa), and Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends alongside stage and screen legends Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga. Growing up in central Florida, Jasmine performed on many beloved community stages including Orlando Family Stage, the Winter Park Playhouse, and Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Most recently, Jasmine was seen in the world premiere of I & You: The Musical at the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, New Jersey. Other Off-Broadway and regional credits include: Broadway Bounty Hunter; A Grand Night for Singing (Goodspeed), Love in Hate Nation (Two River Theater) and Wild Fire (Denver Center).

In addition to performing onstage, Jasmine writes her own music and is often in the recording booth. Her debut single, “do you”, is available for streaming on all platforms. Jasmine’s original music was also featured in the Hallmark film “One December Night” (in which she made her TV debut). She recorded her first animation voiceover as Mama Elephant in the Nick Jr. series, “Wonder Pets.” Jasmine is a proud alumna of the Musical Theatre program at Penn State University.

Taking inspiration from one of the Center’s Seven Dimensions of Wellbeing mosaics, this tapestry will present a loose interpretation of a honeybee/honeycomb. Weave together the story of how nurturing relationships create healthy support networks to propel connection and progress.

heritage

history

A Sankofa bird, often depicted as a mythical bird with its head turned backward while carrying an egg, will be the central theme. This tapestry symbolizes the act of reaching back to reclaim something valuable, such as knowledge or heritage, while still moving forward in life.

The peacock plays a significant role in the city’s history and is featured prominently in the o cial city seal. This tapestry will include jewel tones of turquoise, blues and greens, and weave elements of past and present together.
