No Garbage Collection on December 25th, Christmas Day. This is the only holiday each year on which there is no garbage removal or recycling collection services. If one of your collection days falls on Christmas Day, your next collection will be on your next regularly scheduled collection day.
City of Weston residents receive four bulk trash collections annually. Collection is made by Republic Services, the provider of garbage and recycling collection. Collection dates for garbage, recycling, and bulk trash changed effective June 2024. Bulk trash collection takes place during the months of January, April, July, and October; however, the City of Weston is now divided into smaller sections that are serviced for bulk trash on a specific day of the month.
To find your collection day for garbage, recycling and bulk pickup: Visit www.WestonFL.org/Garbage Items not picked up on your collection day will be picked up the following day.
Detailed information on bulk pickup is available on the city website at WestonFL.org/BulkPickup
Homeowner insurance policies do not cover loss due to flooding. Weston participates in the National Flood Insurance Program, which makes coverage available to everyone in the City at a discounted rate. Residents and business owners are urged to buy flood insurance to protect against potential devastating loss. Property owners may insure buildings and contents; renters may insure their possessions. Just because your property has never experienced a flood does not guarantee that it will not happen. Your insurance agent can provide you with information regarding flood insurance for your home or business. The National Flood Insurance Program is also an informational resource at 1-888-CALL-FLOOD, or visit FEMA.gov.
As a result of the City of Weston’s Class 6 rating in the National Flood Insurance Program’s (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS), Weston property owners receive up to a 20 percent discount on the cost of flood insurance for NFIP flood insurance policies issued or renewed in Special Flood Hazard Areas on or after May 1, 2014. Preferred Risk Policies, applicable in Zones B, C, and X on the NFIP Flood Insurance Rate Map are not eligible for the CRS discount.
The Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) shows the flood zones for Weston. Insurance agents, lending institutions & community officials use the FIRM to determine the location of a specific property and the corresponding flood zone. Community officials use the information to administer flood plain management regulations. If you would like a copy of a FEMA flood map, you can order one online at msc.fema.gov or call 1-800-358-9616.

PARKS AND RECREATION PROGRAMS & EVENTS
The Parks & Recreation Department operates 15 parks and recreation facilities with a vast array of amenities. Through the department, Weston provides wholesome family and individual leisure and recreation programs, sports leagues and a wide-range of events throughout the year for an enhanced quality of life. All of this would not be possible without a vast pool of dedicated volunteers.
Please see the Parks Chart and list of Sports Leagues on the inside of this guide.
The Landscaping Department oversees the upkeep of all landscaping and irrigation systems within public rights-ofway such as berms and medians. Tree maintenance on public property includes structural pruning to thin the upper canopy, allowing wind to pass through and reducing the risk of tree loss during storms.
