Winter and spring are exciting seasons for West Bend. Our community is once again hosting an impressive list of events and programs for you to enjoy with family and friends. Early winter events include Enchantment in the Park and the 5K Reindeer Run in Regner Park. January 17-19 is our Winter Warm-Up, which includes the Hugh Jass fat tire bike race and Lac Lawrann Luminary Walk, both happening on January 18. The official end to winter in West Bend is March 1, when we celebrate Bockfest in Regner Park.
Our Recreation division is offering a wide variety of youth and adult programs. Programs include learn to swim, judo, youth gymnastics, ballroom dance, spring soccer, baseball, and archery. Nature based offerings at Lac Lawrann Conservancy include Winter Fun Days, Snowshoe Fridays, snowshoe group field trips, and hiking trips and tours. Get signed up early, before classes begin to fill up.
Begin planning your 2025 private event at one of our many park pavilions and shelters. Online or in person registration for 2025 facility rentals opens January 2. Lac Lawrann Conservancy offers a fantastic wedding package. Contact our department or website for additional details. Plan now for that special event.
Community events, outstanding programing, and a very impressive park and trail system provide our community with many opportunities to stay active during the winter and spring seasons. We hope to see you around town, celebrating your community.

A resident is any person who lives within the corporate city limits of West Bend. This is not to be confused with a West Bend area school district resident. City and school district boundaries are not the same. A non-resident is anyone who lives outside the City limits. Even if your mailing address is West Bend, this does not mean you are a corporate City resident. Most activities have different fees for residents and non-residents. The City of West Bend Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department is supported by the residents of the City of West Bend through taxes. Non-residents pay their fair share through an additional surcharge established by the Park & Recreation Commission.
Credit or refund will be made under the following conditions:
• If the Department cancels the activity or is unable to fulfill your request, a full credit/refund will be made.
• If you cancel prior to the start of an activity a $5.00 administrative fee will be charged.
• Credit/refund will not be issued after an activity begins.
We guarantee your satisfaction with our recreation programs. If you are not completely satisfied for any reason, please fill out a form obtained at the Parks Department office. You will receive a credit that can be applied to another program, or a refund with the Director’s approval.
By registering, you are granting permission to have your child’s photo taken. Under supervision, photos may be used for newspaper, display, promotion, or other educational purposes.
The City of West Bend Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department welcomes individuals of all abilities to our classes and activities. Please indicate any special needs when you register. If you are unsure what accommodations can be made, call (262) 335-5080.
A minimum number of students are required for a class to be offered. The Department reserves the right to cancel a class or make schedule changes when enrollment does not meet set minimums. If your class has been canceled or changed, you will be notified and the fee will be transferred to your credit balance, or refunded using same form as original payment.
• The second and fourth time within a session an instructional class is canceled due to bad weather, that class will be made up as staff, time, and location permit. If the department is unable to make up the class, a one-class credit amount will be issued.
• League play canceled because of bad weather will be made up if staff, time, and location permit.
• Never leave your child alone at a class site if a Department staff member is not present. If you are uncertain whether a class is canceled, please call the department (262) 335-5080 or check on Facebook.
Qualifying families that meet the Income Eligibility Guidelines may request an application by calling (262) 335-5080. Participants pay $5 per class, maximum one class per child per season. Assistance is for Recreation Department sponsored programs only. Financial assistance is provided through a generous grant from the West Bend Friends of Parks & Recreation.
The Parks and Recreation Department does not provide nor cover any medical or hospital insurance for program participants. You are encouraged to obtain your own insurance prior to taking part in any Department activity.
