Thank a Teacher Presented by Webster

THE SPECIAL FEATURE

The City of Webster proudly collaborates with Clear Creek ISD and C3 Studios to sponsor the “Thank a Teacher” special feature at Challenger Columbia Stadium.

During this feature, a pre-produced video highlighting deserving teachers, selected by the school district, is streamed on the leaderboard. Following the video, the announcer expresses appreciation for the City of Webster as the sponsor and invites teachers to stand while fans cheer and express their gratitude by collectively thanking a teacher.

THE STADIUM

The Clear Creek ISD Challenger Columbia Stadium is a remarkable 10,000-seat stadium, welcoming students, educators, fans, and families from the Webster area and beyond for each high school varsity football season.

The stadium offers expansive concession areas, state-of-the-art sports systems, and a cutting-edge scoreboard managed by the district’s C3 Studios—a dynamic live production student crew stationed at the stadium. The high-resolution leaderboard engages the crowd with live game footage, crowd shots, and captivating pre-produced features.

THE WEBSTER STAYCATION BASKET

Mayor Donna Jasso presents each featured teacher with a Webster Staycation Basket curated by Marketing and Tourism Specialist Katie Vela who gathers gifts from Webster businesses like Rudy’s Bar-B-Q, Black Rock Coffee, and Topgolf. Additionally, Webster hotels generously provide free-night stay certificates for the baskets.

Throughout August and September, Mayor Jasso surprises the honored teachers in their classrooms, surrounded by adoring students, to deliver the Webster gift baskets. The heartwarming exchanges between the teachers and the Mayor are shared on the leaderboard during each special feature. Photos of the teacher, students, and Mayor are then shared across social media platforms, tagging the generous Webster hotels and businesses that have contributed.
