I want to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who attended the Building a Strong Community Luncheon at Weatherford College last month It was a truly special day, bringing together so many dedicated leaders who share a collective vision for our city’s future. The progress we have made together is remarkable, and I firmly believe that the best is yet to come.

One exciting development on the horizon is the grand opening of Weatherford’s new Costco location. This 160,000-square-foot facility will not only enhance local shopping options but will also create over 200 jobs, contributing to our city’s economic growth We look forward to the positive impact this addition will have on both residents and visitors

Costco Grand Opening

The long-awaited grand opening for the new Weatherford location of Costco will take place on Saturday, March 15 Costco is located at the northwest corner of I-20 and Centerpoint Road. The new facility brings over 200 jobs to the community and will be a welcome amenity for residents and visitors alike

Several employees were recently recognized for service anniversaries at the Municipal Utility Board meeting held at City Hall on January 30. Director of Water Utilities Rick Shaffer was recognized for 10 years service, Keith Truelove was recognized for 10 years service, and Taylor Bray was recognized for 5 years service. Thanks to each of you for your service to the City of Weatherford!

Andrea McDonald and Krista Peacock both earned re-certifications from the Texas Municipal Clerks Association. This program is a university-level professional education program for city clerks and city secretaries in Texas, and requires 72 hours of classroom instruction. Our city secretary’s office plays a vital role in the City of Weatherford’s operations, and we congratulate both Andrea and Krista on this achievement.
