PROGRAM GUIDE
CITY OF SUFFOLK
MESSAGE FROM THE CITY MANAGER Fall is one of the best times of the year to enjoy everything Suffolk has to offer. The cooler weather, community events, and outdoor activities make it a season I always look forward to. Whether you’re spending time with family, catching up with friends, or exploring something new, there’s something for everyone. The season kicks off with The Taste of Suffolk on Saturday, September 12. Enjoy great food from local restaurants, live music, and a fun day in downtown Suffolk while supporting our local businesses. Next comes one of Suffolk’s favorite traditions Suffolk Peanut Fest, happening October 8–11. With live entertainment, carnival rides, local vendors, delicious food, and activities for all ages, it’s four days of fun that brings our community together year after year. If you enjoy live local music, you won’t want to miss the Shelf Bound Sound Music Festival, now held at the brandnew Downtown Suffolk Library. Now in its third year, this Suffolk Public Library event has moved from North Suffolk to the Downtown Suffolk Library, featuring an incredible lineup of established and emerging local artists in a oneof-a-kind setting. Beyond these signature events, there is even more to enjoy throughout the season. From our parks and libraries to our trails and Farmers’ Market, Suffolk offers countless ways to connect, explore, and make the most of fall. I hope you’ll get out, support local businesses, spend time with family and friends, and make some great memories along the way. I hope you’ll take advantage of everything this season has to offer. Get out, support local businesses, spend time with family and friends, and make some great memories. I look forward to seeing you around Suffolk this fall.
