COMMUNITY BIKE RIDES CONTINUE SATURDAY, JULY 8TH & AUGUST 5TH
The bike rides are part of the City of South El Monte’s initiative to promote active and healthy lifestyles in the community through fun and safe family-friend recreational cycling events.
The fun 8-mile leisure bike rides are led by City officials and staff. All bike excursions are Free and open to the public. Snacks and water are provided to all participants during and after the bike ride. A free bike raffle will take
The bike rides are recommended for individuals ages 10 and older. All partakers must bring their own bike and helmet. Participants under the age of 18 must wear a helmet during the bike rides as required by state law.

CITY HONORS SENIOR SERVICES VOLUNTEERS
In honor of National Volunteer Month, the City of South El Monte joined in the celebration and recognized the selfless individuals who donate their time and make a positive impact at City’s Senior Center.
The volunteers provide assistance with a variety of programs from serving lunch meals to teaching classes at the Senior Center that benefit our community’s seniors. Their dedication and contribution, play an important role in the success of Senior Services’ Programming.
In appreciation of the volunteers who make the Senior Center a great place to visit, the City’s Senior Services Division hosted its annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner themed “Out Of This World” on April 26,2023 in their honor. The South El Monte City Council recognized each one with a Certificate of Recognition and a City swag bag that included a jacket and name tag. The honorees included: Macrina Caballero, Irma Figueroa, Rosario Gonzales, Raul Gonzales, Josefa Llamas, Anna Loera, Aurora Lucero, Camerina Morales, Maria Olvera, Raquel Perez, Maria Solis, Gabriel Murillo, and Ruby Rose Yepez. They also received Certificates of Recognition from Senator Susan Rubio.

CITY COUNCIL PRESENTATIONS
The City Council proclaimed the week of April 30-May 6, 2023, as “Municipal Clerks Week” and recognized our City Clerk Donna Schwartz (right) and Deputy City Clerk Paola Lara for their vital services they perform for the South El Monte Community.
Certificate of Recognition was presented to the parents of Active Military Banner Program Participant, James Diego Velazquez, Private First Class/E-3, Actively Serving in the United States Army.
Certificates of Recognition were presented to the South El Monte High School Academic Decathlon Team for their Top 10 Ranking in the 2023 Los Angeles County of Education Academic Decathlon Competition.
Certificates of Recognition were presented to the South El Monte High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Club for winning 22 awards at the FBLA Inland Section Leadership Conference 2023. They also achieved 7th place in sweepstakes and have advanced to the next level with 10 state qualifiers.

STREET SWEEPING & TRASH COLLECTION HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
In observance of Independence Day holiday, there will be no street sweeping and trash collection services on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.
Street Sweeping: If your regular street sweeping day falls on Tuesday, it will be swept on the following week. Please be advised, that all other parking regulations (i.e. red zones, blue zones/handicap, sidewalk, etc.) will be enforced.
Trash Collection: Collection services will resume on Wednesday and there will be a oneday delay for the remainder of the week.

• Preventing Crime by Community Policing with the community it serves.
