New Temple Elementary School Celebrates Read Across America

New Temple Elementary School in South El Monte has been recognized for its incredible effort to promote reading and celebrate literacy during Read Across America Week. The school’s dedication to encouraging young students to love reading has been highlighted through the variety of authors and genres of books that were featured throughout the week.

From February 27th through March 3rd, the school welcomed guest readers from various backgrounds including local officials, community leaders, law enforcement, and educators who volunteered to read to students in their classrooms.

The week-long event was filled with fun and engaging activities that helped to create a buzz around reading. Students participated in read-alouds, book giveaways, and even spirit week dress-up days, all in an effort to promote a love for reading and encourage students to explore new genres and authors.
