HONORS ACTIVE MILITARY WITH BANNER PROGRAM The City of South El Monte is proud to honor the brave men and women who are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces through the Active Military Banner program. The program is designed to honor, support, and express appreciation to South El Monte residents for their service and commitment to our nation and our community. The designated honoree must be currently serving as active duty in a full-time capacity in the United States Armed Forces (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, or Navy) and currently residing in South El Monte or have an immediate family member (parent, spouse, sibling, child, or grandparent) residing in South El Monte. Banners are displayed on poles along City Hall. Each banner will list the name of the honoree and branch of service. The cost to display each customized banner is $50; financial assistance is available.
