What’s New

Shani Bradshaw Completes Texas Community Development Institute (CDI) We’re proud to share that Shani Bradshaw has successfully completed the third and final year of the Texas Community Development Institute (CDI Texas), a nationally recognized training program for community and economic development professionals.

This intensive program brings together leaders from across the country for in-depth sessions covering topics such as economic development strategies, workforce development, strategic planning, and community assessment. Programs like CDI Texas equip participants with practical tools to strengthen and support the communities they serve.

We’re excited to see the continued impact of Shani’s knowledge and leadership as she helps guide Sanger’s growth and success.

EDC Sponsors the Sanger Education Foundation Gala The Sanger Economic Development Corporation was proud to attend and sponsor the Sanger Education Foundation, Inc. Gala— one of the organization’s largest annual fundraisers supporting grants for SISD teachers and scholarships for local students.

During the evening, EDC staff and Type A Board members were recognized for their role in launching the SWAG program, an initiative that continues to prepare Sanger High School students to become active members of the local workforce. This program’s success is a direct reflection of the dedication and ongoing support of our board members, whose commitment to investing in Sanger’s future makes opportunities like this possible.

It was a meaningful evening celebrating education, partnership, and the bright future of our community.

Sanger EDC Featured at T.A.P.P.S. Realtors Meeting

EDC Launches Community Retail Survey

Shani Bradshaw, Director of Economic The Sanger Economic Development Corporation Development, represented Sanger EDC as a recently launched a Community Retail Survey to guest speaker at the T.A.P.P.S. Realtors meeting, better understand local preferences and priorities which brings together realtors from Tioga, for future retail development. The survey Aubrey, Pilot Point, and Sanger. Morgan Miller, Economic Development Coordinator Earns Business Retention & Expansion Coordinator Certification We’re excited to share that Morgan Miller has completed Business Retention & Expansion International (BREI) training and earned her certification as a Business Retention & Expansion Coordinator (BREC).

This certification provides advanced tools and strategies to better support existing businesses, encourage expansion, and strengthen relationships within the local business community. Investing in our existing businesses is essential to long-term economic success, and we’re proud to have Morgan leading these efforts for Sanger.

Sanger Economic Development Receives 2025 Economic Excellence Recognition The Sanger Economic Development Corporation is proud to announce that we have received the 2025 Economic Excellence Recognition from the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC).

This honor recognizes organizations across Texas that demonstrate a strong commitment to professionalism, leadership, and best practices in economic development. In 2025, 85 organizations statewide received this distinction, and we are honored for Sanger to be among them.

This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting local businesses, encouraging investment, and creating opportunities that help Sanger thrive.

Staff Attend ICSC Red River Conference Sanger EDC staff recently attended the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Red River Conference in San Antonio. This one-day event provided valuable opportunities to connect with retail developers and promote Sanger as a growing and attractive market for future development.

In addition to developer meetings, staff participated in networking opportunities with fellow economic development professionals, strengthening relationships and sharing insights with peer communities. These efforts continue to support our mission of bringing quality retail and development opportunities to Sanger.

Sanger Crossing Continues to Grow Sanger Crossing continues to grow as an important retail and service center for Sanger. Anchored

by Tom Thumb and complemented by a growing mix of retail, dining, and service establishments, the development reflects the strong momentum of continued investment along the I-35 corridor.

Panda Express, Whataburger, and Club Car Wash have all officially broken ground and are now under construction, highlighting the continued growth of Sanger Crossing and the strong momentum of commercial development in the area.

In addition to the businesses currently under construction, AT&T, Dorado Nail Salon, and 7 Brew Coffee are now officially open, contributing to the growing variety of services and amenities available in Sanger.

Birchway Sanger Coming this Summer The Birchway Sanger is part of a planned 68-acre residential development along Belz Road, located directly adjacent to Sanger Crossing. This first phase includes 303 multi-family units, featuring 1- and 2bedroom apartments as well as 3-bedroom cottages, all set to open summer 2026.

Sanger Economic Development and the City of Sanger Receive Visionary Award At the Sanger Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Luncheon, the City of Sanger and Sanger Economic Development were honored with the Visionary Award for their outstanding efforts and partnership in promoting economic growth and development within the community. In addition, they received a State of Texas Senatorial Certificate of Recognition, further acknowledging their dedication and impact in fostering a thriving local economy.
