SALISBURY SECRET GARDEN HAVE YOU HEARD THE SECRET? 21st - 28th FEBRUARY 2014

MAYOR’S WELCOME Music and culture has played an important role in our community for many years. Many wouldn’t know that Salisbury was one of the cultural hearts of SA in the early 1900’s. Our city not only had a town band, but an orchestra and was home to an internationally renowned composer. Now Salisbury has many bands and is home to one of the biggest commercial music training programs in the state. This rich cultural history is one of those things that makes Salisbury great. The City of Salisbury is committed to ensure that this tradition continues and that our community continues to have access to high quality arts and cultural programs. It is therefore with great pleasure that I present the Salisbury Secret Garden Program, as part of the Adelaide Fringe 2014. This program brings the State’s Fringe festival to our community and creates Salisbury as the newest and largest Fringe Hub outside of the Adelaide CBD. Through the Salisbury Secret Garden we will be providing a fantastic program of 100 performances at 10 different venues whilst providing fantastic development opportunities for the local arts and culture industry. This program also demonstrates what an important role our city’s parks and venues play in supporting active and healthy lifestyles for our community. I encourage the whole community to come out and enjoy what the Salisbury Secret Garden has to offer, there is something for everyone! Gillian Aldridge, Mayor of Salisbury
