GRANNY SMITH FESTIVAL The Granny Smith Festival returns to Eastwood on Saturday 17 October 2026, celebrating the legacy of Maria Ann Smith, who cultivated the first Granny Smith apple. Recognised as one of Sydney’s largest and most beloved community festivals, the event will feature special historical displays alongside the much-loved attractions, entertainment, food and community spirit that have made it a cherished tradition for generations.
FOOD HUBS AND SEATING Enjoy our two delicious food hubs: located at West Parade near Eastwood train station and at Eastwood Public School. There is a wide array of options on offer, you'll find everything from classic festival favourites to gourmet bites. Enjoy your meal at one of the nearby seating areas, perfect for recharging or catching up with family and friends before returning to enjoy the Festival fun. PLAN YOUR TRIP Parking is limited on Festival day, so we encourage visitors to leave the car at home and travel by public transport or take advantage of the free Festival shuttle service. Plan your journey at transportnsw.info or ryde.events/GettingtoGSF Families can collect a complimentary lost child wristband proudly supported by our Platinum sponsor, Community Bank Homebush and North Ryde, part of Bendigo Bank from their stall on Rowe Street, one of the Festival Information Stalls or St John Ambulance tents. BYO WASTE WISE Granny Smith Festival is a Waste Wise Event. No single-use plastics will be sold on the day. BYO water bottle and refill at water stations marked on the map.
ACCESSIBLE DROP OFF ZONE Visitors who hold a valid Mobility Parking Permit and require close access to the Festival can use the Accessible Drop-Off Zone via Trelawney Street. Limited accessible parking is available at Eastwood Shopping Centre and Scan the QR code for more the Glen Street Car Park. information. Make your way to the Club Eastwood Bizzo Laneway Bar off Hillview Road, where you can enjoy a barbecue and a wide range of refreshments throughout the day as they celebrate 80 years. You can also relax and soak up the Festival atmosphere at the Harvest Garden Bar on Eastwood Oval. Enjoy live entertainment and a selection of beverages, including beers, wines and ciders, plus the very popular and delicious cocktails; The Apple Spritz and Granny’s Famous Apple Mule!
CARNIVAL FUN Experience the excitement of the Festival on the Oval and West Parade with thrilling rides and classic games for all ages. Purchase ride coupons from the ticket booths located throughout the rides area and be sure to check out both the much-loved favourites and exciting new attractions.

EASTWOOD PUBLIC SCHOOL Home to the GSF Play Zone, including free face painting, Playkour obstacle course, apple nacho cooking workshop, animal farm and pony rides*. Visit our info stall in the Apple Shed, spin the wheel for great prizes and read up about the history of Granny Smith. Take a seat in the grounds, relax and grab a bite from the food hub. You may even bump into Granny Smith and Festival mascot Sweetie Pie. There's something for everyone, the kids will love it.
YOUTH ZONE Looking for somewhere to hang out? Head to the Youth Zone to chill with friends, enjoy live music from talented local young artists, meet the 2RRR Youth Team, pedal your way to a delicious smoothie with Bike & Blend, get creative with fun activities, and connect with local youth services. There's plenty to see, do and discover throughout the day!
Come check out the exhibition at Eastwood Library showcasing the history of Granny Smith, including one-of-a-kind artefacts owned by Granny Smith and her family! Rowe Street will be buzzing with Council stalls packed with community information and services including; Weeds Awareness, Eastwood Special Entertainment Precinct and Bushcare. Have your say and help our Circular Economy team name the City’s brand-new mascots that will promote waste reduction and resource recovery.

BIG APPLE SINGING COMPETITION
LITTLE ORCHARD
Take centre stage in the Big Apple Singing Competition and let your voice shine! With categories for performers under 15 and those aged 15 and over, there’s an opportunity for everyone to get involved. The competition begins at 12.00pm, with fantastic prizes up for grabs. Enter today and share your passion for music with the community.
Experience a full day of music and cultural entertainment at Eastwood Plaza from 9.30am to 5.30pm. The Little Orchard will come alive with performances from a variety of local community and cultural groups.
DESIGN YOUR OWN GRANNY SMITH FESTIVAL POSTER Let your imagination run wild in the Create Your Own Granny Smith Festival Poster Competition! Open to children aged 3-12 years, the competition features two age categories: 3-6 years and 7-12 years. Design a colourful poster inspired by the Granny Smith Festival and showcase your creativity. Submit your entry via the Granny Smith Festival competitions webpage.
APPLE PIE EATING COMPETITION One of the Festival’s favourite traditions is back! Enter the Apple Pie Eating Competition and see how you stack up against the competition. Applications are now open. Be sure to gather at the Harvest Stage at 3.45pm for a slice of the action and plenty of laughs. All competition entries close on Sunday 4 October. For registrations and more information head to

GRANNY’S PAVILION Stop by Granny’s Pavilion from 9.30am to enjoy an exciting lineup of performances from local dance groups and school students. Showcasing some of Ryde’s brightest young talent, this stage is packed with entertainment, colour and community spirit.

K-TOWN STAGE
Discover the sounds of the local music scene at the Apple Cart. Set near The Avenue, this intimate performance space features talented singer-songwriters sharing original music alongside familiar favourites, creating the perfect festival atmosphere.
Take a journey to Koreatown via the underground walkway on Rowe Street East and enjoy a colourful showcase of Korean culture. From traditional and contemporary performances to K-pop acts and dance-filled fun, there’s something for everyone to experience!
HARVEST STAGE Celebrate the heart of the festival at Eastwood Oval, featuring a full day of performances, activities and special events. The festivities begin with the Official Welcome at 10.30am, followed by family entertainment from Gabby’s Dollhouse at 12.00pm and 2.00pm. Get ready for your tummies to rumble with laughter at the Apple Pie Eating Competition at 3.45pm, followed by Tequila Mockingbird at 6.00pm and Kesha Nevé at 7.00pm. The celebrations will wrap up with a spectacular fireworks display.
